The point won at Southport today takes us to the 50 point target quoted to ensure National League safety for another season.
In two of our previous four seasons 50 pts would not have been enough to guarantee safety. This is the number of points that the fourth bottom placed team has had after 46 games:
2011-12 Hayes & Yeading 41 2012-13 Stockport County 50 2013-14 Chester 51 2014-15 Alfreton Town 45
Admittedly the clubs down the bottom do not look capable of reaching 50 pts but perhaps we need to be targeting 52 pts to be statistically sure?

I remember 2013. Stockport lost their last game but even if they'd won it, they would have gone down with 53 points. So, a bit more work for us to do yet
