Backwards step for Massey in my opinion, another player of the year departs straight after picking up his trophy, sad to see Ryan go but perhaps the coaching role is how he see's his future progressing, good luck fella

And I was just thinking today couldn't get much worse.
Very sad to see both of them going. Alan especially as player of the year, but Ryan's been a good servant over the years. Finding a good centre back pairing is a tough first assignment for Danny

Second season running that POTY has left. Massey is a big loss, but we thought that when Deano left; but Remy has come in and done well. Peters is not such a big loss for me. Although capable, he was limited and we should be able to pick up a decent replacement. Any chance Devs could take Marks?

If both live that side of London (I believe they do) then who wouldn't want a job nearer home on the same or more money if they could get it, I know I would, sad to lose both but in Danny/Nicky we have to trust and wait for our own new signings and give them our full support.

Personally, I only ever wanted to play at the highest possible level but, then again, I struggled to progress from the Brooke Waltham & District League Division 9! As you'll perhaps understand, I was never a nippy winger ...

Naah. Immobile centre half, with a penchant for head and volley!

Although disappointed along with other posters on the departure of both Alan and Ryan, am not surprised as I mentioned on another thread I expected 3 or 4 departures. IMO we have a good replacement for Ryan with Mitch Brundle, but Alan Massey will be sorely missed.

And..... Jimmy the crab is no loss and Carl was loyal to devs sat on the bench all the time. Season is way off yet and I am glad some players gone. If they don't wanna play for the club the off you go. Plenty of players that will realish the opportunity that comes their way. In Cowley we trust

To be honest Massey is the only loss, I thought he was a very solid defender. Peters was IMHO very over rated, always caught on the wrong side of his man and doesn't pass the ball well. Mulley was very inconsistent and in Macdonald we have a better keeper than Pentney.
No doubt the next few weeks will see new players coming in and I like the look of the signings so far if the others coming in are of the same ilk as Cheek and Fry there is much to look forward to.

I think you're being hard on James Mulley. Agreed he was inconsistent, but he had some excellent games for us and at his best could take defences apart. A far better winger than Chez, who really belongs in the middle. Any more news on him, by the way?

Mulley was an ok winger but he's certainly not the type of departure you'd cry about. Very replaceable in my view. It was most definitely the Massey departure that would have had us worried at first
