Looks a poor result to me, will be interested to hear from someone who went to the game.

Up the Iron's first post for 3.5 years and its a negative one.
I HAD to go to yesterday's game to support the team. Life goes on, and I was expecting a win as they couldn't possibly be as bad as Tuesday night. Could they?
Well, for 45 minutes they had a good go at topping that. There were far too many players giving the impression that they didn't want to be there, getting wound up too easily, being dragged out of position and being very sloppy with their passing. The first two goals were terrible ones to give away...both carbon copies. A ball through the middle over the top for a striker to latch on to and slot home. The second was scored by veteran striker Lee Hughes, showing that he's still a class act.
The third goal was from an unmarked header from a cross. By half time I was feeling so annoyed by the lack of effort that if I'd had my car with me I'd have left.
Within a minute of the restart Kenny Davis had put a 25 yarder into the top corner, to make it 3-1. Whether it was that, or Dev's rousing half time talk, I don't know but from then on we were treated to a much better performance. There was a sudden belief that we could get something from the game and players were chasing players down, quicker to the ball and playing with passion. Mensah shot narrowly wide a few minutes later and if that had gone in then who knows what the final outcome would have been?
As supporters we don't mind losing, but expect a bit of effort so well done everyone for getting it going in the second half and making our journey home a little more bearable (apart from the smashed coach windscreen on the A14).
Don't know if its just me but when I fork out to go all that way I do appreciate it when the players being subbed show their appreciation to those who have made the effort to spend their time and money going to see them. No evidence of that yesterday.
I'm not so sure we need to make changes. Just need to focus on what needs to be done and get over the line as quick as possible. We have a wafer thin squad in a full time league and the only real change that will make a difference is to get the gates up and go full time. With that in mind I will be there on Friday afternoon and lets hope that all Iron fans make the effort to bring some extra support along.
A lot of eyes will be on Friday's attendance but it will only be a big one if the word is spread far and wide.

Sean Marks was stretchered off in the second half. Didn't look too good. Hope he's OK?

Alas, suspected broken ankle. Typical Sean was talking about playing with one leg on Friday.

Sorry to hear that Sean has a bad injury. At least the beer was good and the cottage pie was worth the trip alone. Better performance 2nd half, was good to see Sparky make a return.
