We started today without four regulars Reece Sayers was injured from Tuesday, Alfie Walker had a 1 game match suspension from Swaffham away & Joe Moore & Joe Maybanks promoted to 1st team bench away at Weymouth, I am not sure if they got on, hopefully hear later. Today we picked up a string of injuries returning Matt Baxter, Richmond Ayoola both hobbled off. After we made our 3rd sub Seye Okunlola picked up an injury and we were effectively playing with 10 men for the last ten mins as Seye could barely walk. It did give a chance for some fringe Academy players to step up. Full details of today's game to be posted after tea. Chicken Pie, chips & gravy.

----------
With the first team taking both Joe Moore & Joe Maybanks, Alfie Walker's suspension and Reece Sayers injury we were without four regulars today, this gave a chance for some of the boys that had not figured, Palvy Manduakila who had waited patiently as a sub finally got his game today and three players returned from injury's which had meant they had missed the last month. Returning today we had Lewis Soraf, Flynn Tarman & Luke Mallett. We also had Dean Gilder back with us today.
The game started fairly typically for us where we had the early chances, only 2 minutes gone and Regan Pelling had a low shot outside the box to trouble the Yarmouth keeper. Our next effort of any real note was set up in a move involving Seye Okunlola, Richmond Ayoola and the final shot from Regan Pelling. In the 2nd half Seye Okunlola had an effort across the goal line (59)
Gt Yarmouth had a period of the game, hitting the 1st goal (62) Mitch Forbes, then hitting the cross bar (70) and firing home his penalty in the closing minutes. (88) Due to Seye Okunlola picking up an injury with 10 minutes to go and us having used our 3 subs, we were effectively down to 10 men as Seye could no longer run.
Gt Yarmouth Town completed a 2.0 double as this was also the score line in Norfolk.
Next up : this is to be confirmed - Tilbury away in the Essex Senior Cup 3rd Round this is due to be played on Tuesday 28/10. Watch this space. As this could be in doubt due to the first team drawing in the FA Cup. As soon as we know one way or the other it will be posted here.

Despite the loss I thought the lads played ok today. Not to much goal mouth action, the sides seemed to cancel each other out. Perhaps Braintree lack a little up front, although the no.9 looks like a powerful unit. Impressed with the keeper, really commanding and vocal.
