----------
The tone of the game was set early, a foul by Cornard with an elbow to young Alfie Walker's nose led to a scrappy game of stop, start, stop start. Our players in turn were bullied off the ball, by a physical Cornard side that reminded me of an earlier game in the season by Downham which we drew. We fell behind on 50th minute Ezran Drun doing the damage for the visitors, we levelled 17 minutes later when Joe Moore half volleyed an equalizer received from a corner. Cornard won the match with a disputed penalty converted by Thomas Le Page. A game best to be forgotten, I can't remember many attacks on goal from either side and the constant interruption to play led to a dour defeat. This is not sour grapes because we lost as you will see when we lost to Stowmarket for example I did not feel this way.
Anyway next up a game to high flying Norfolk side Swaffham Town away.

Can't believe Mark will be happy with this result. Cornard are notoriously terrible! Think this is probably their second win in two years! More worrying is we had three first team fringe players out. Reaction needed me thinks!

From what I heard Cornard kicked the youngsters off the park n didn't play football! Ref didn't control it and a couple of Braintree players were lucky to escape serious injury! Was also a dubious penalty, especially when compared to other challenges he had done nothing about! I believe some supporters/parents were up in arms about it! So would not say it was Marks or the teams fault, but yes disappointing. IMO.

Well summarized Deniss, I have to be careful about commenting about a match official as when I was at Witham Town I commented on an official clashing with the opponents black kit in the Esl and it was sent to the County FA, (luckily thrown out) but would agree with your comments.
