FIRST DIVISION LOOKING VERY TIGHT
With overnight leaders Debenham LC crashing 5-1 at March Town United, Long Melford returned to the summit of the First Division after winning 3-2 at Leiston Reserves. Stowmarket Town missed the opportunity to go top after losing 2-0 at home to Great Yarmouth Town in what is turning out to be a very tight division. Swaffham Town lost the only unbeaten record in the division when beaten 3-1 at King’s Lynn Town Reserves on Tuesday evening. There were 275 in attendance at this local derby.
At the bottom of the First Division Cornard United earned their first point of the season with a 1-1 draw at Dereham Town Reserves while in the Premier Division Ely City and Diss Town remain pointless after 7 matches.

LEADING GOALSCORERS
The early leaders in the Premier Division Goalscoring charts are Hadleigh United’s David Lorimer and Aaron Turner from Mildenhall Town. Both players have found the net 6 times.
In the First Division James Heathcote of Debenham LC leads the way with 9 goals followed by Tom Bradlaugh of Stowmarket Town with 7.

NORWICH UNITED THROUGH IN FA CUP
Congratulaions to Norwich United who are the only Thurlow Nunn League side certain to be playing in the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Cup on September 27th. A 46th minute gaoal from Matt Blake was enough for the Planters to beat Wisbech Town in Saturday’s First Qualifying Round tie.
Ipswich Wanderers will become a second side through if they can overcome Ryman League Premier Division Wingate & Finchley in Wednesday’s replay. The sides drew 2-2 in North London on Saturday with Wanderers twice coming from behind.
The other five Thurlow Nunn League sides all crashed out to higher league opponents in their First Qualifying Round ties
