For some reason we dont seem to be able to reply to Gordon's thread so I've started a new one.
The Podsbrook plans would have been good, butthe council didnt want it and it would have upset a lot of people. We want the town to be with the club not against us, so its not a bad thing that we wont be going there.
At the same time, the club clearly didnt like the Panfield Lane plan. So staying put is probably the best option. What we dont know is what that would involve. Its not been seen as a good option up to now but I'm not sure I know why. What would it take to bring it up to Football League standard? OK, a pipe dream but thats what we were aiming for. No good getting into the Conference if we cant go any further.

I'm not bothered if it had upset a few people I'm all for podsbrook. Loads of people complain about new roads, housing estates being built but there quite happy to drive on the roads and live in the houses when there built. So I'm sure they would come along to podsbrook if that got built.

I still can't see why we don't look more closely at Great Leighs (the race course). Surely all the infrastruture is in place (certainly the flood lights are!!) and it's in a good location for transport links. The ground would be just outside town so no complaints that PA is to loud/flood lights are to bright. I'm sure something can be negotiated with Chelmsford Borough Council. The land just seems to be wasted at this present time.....

It would certainly stop people whinging about building on normal woodland or whatever. The sites already built on, would just need a revamp.

Gt Leighs, too far from station, too far to walk and a foreign council to boot.

But if Braintree Council don't want to support is, perhaps Chelmsford Borough Council might? Their club seems to be going down hill from what I've seen today!

That would be following the small blip on Tuesday night then would Tik. I think they will implode just like last season and they seem to have a lot of flair but no skill.
