Here,s a little song me and mates used to sing years ago when I was a Romford supporter way back in the 60,s. Cant, remember what tune we sang it to, but its very simple and I have adapted it to the Iron. Here goes, We are from Braintree good boys are we, We take a pride in supporting our team. They,re a rare bunch of fighters They,re football delighters We are from Braintree FC FC FC BFC
Our football team we think they are the best, In the Blue Square South we are better than the rest, With Bradders and Marksy, Jonah and Starkey We are from Braintree FC FC FC BFC
Silly I know, but if anyones interested I might sing it at St.Albans tomorrow. You have been warned!!!

I say sing them all! It is unnerving that we are so quiet at home matches in particular. Our players must be wondering what they have to do to get us singing and making plenty of noise in their support. Ironically when I have attended away matches the few loyal supporters make more noise than when they are at home matches. Even my other team, Leyton Orient, have chants that we can all join in with and all the regular supporters know. May be we should have a competition (which I am sure a lot of our younger supporters could join in) to find the best song or chant for us all to sing. I am quite willing to contribute to a cash prize for the best entry.

Instead of coming up with chants that one person knows we should just stick to the simple songs everyone knows that we can adapt easily to fit Braintree/Oranges.
The likes of; 'Come on Your Oranges' 'Rod Stringers Barmy Army' 'Oraaaaangeeees Oraaaangeees' 'We all follow the Braintree'
more people will catch on quicker and join in because the chants are easier to remember. We are being mocked on the soapbox too if anyones interested, lets just hope we're the ones singing after the game on the 28th.
