Just spoken with George on the phone who's in a hotel in York. Delighted with his move and the chance to go full-time, but he did ask to say 'thank you' to everyone at Braintree.
A great lad, we wish him the very best - keep scoring Georgie!
More news on the site.

Gutted he's gone but understand why he's gone.
Good luck to George, thought it would be tough to keep hold of him, I reckon he'll score goals for York who a good side, competing in the play-offs last season.
Hope you come back and visit us one day George, good luck.

No stars at Braintree just good team players, its 11 plus subs all working together. But don,t worry we have a replacement lined up...Last time I saw this player he came on as a sub when his team were 2 down to Staines, he then went on to score 3 goals..and then got plulled back to his Championship team and went back into 1st team...sorry can not let you Know yet....Pen has to be put tp paper. reguards
the above was posted by Barry on the Chelmsford City 'soapbox'.
My bets Mitchell Bryant from Reading who was on loan to Basingstoke Town.

Jamie Guy then, isnt he the overweight lad whos in trouble with the police a fair bit? Been at Grays recently I think. Decent player when on form, would score 15+ in this league

Disappointing that BTFC Barry will speculate about a possible incoming player on our rivals forum before informing IRON supporters on here first. I realise, the post was in response to a couple of soapbox contributors (one being Foster) who are keen to josh Barry. However, they didn't request info on who the club may have been close to signing, so why privilege them with the sneak preview?

I was thinking the same myself Ozbrit. Why didnt this Barry chap inform our forum before spilling the beans on Chelmsford City's!?
Signing Jamie Guy though has made me think he's been mis informed. Unless of course we will be strenghening even further....

Sad to see him go but a good move to a bigger club. With pro football he will get even better.
Good luck George.

just go back from hols. Sad to hear that George has gone but all the best to him. For me he was the best forward we have had for about 10 years. Of course he was the fans player of the season 2009-10. So long as York play him in the correct position , I am convinced he will score goals for them.
