It's that time of year again when the Club starts to think about its programme for the coming season.
One of the features we're looking to introduce is a page or two from you the supporters. Not every week, but a chance to write 3-500 words on an occasional basis covering any topic you like and then see it in print.
Anybody fancy having a go?

Not saying I'd like to write it but I'd be willing to help, what about a little feature on former Iron players each week.
Say like 'A Blast from the past' so for our first home game we profiled Alex Revell for example, then our second home game we featured Billy Burgess etc, just went through former Iron players over the course of a season.
Just an idea, open to criticism of course.

Always been impressed by the programme, particularly the looking-back bit. A lot of work goes into that. Is that still jonw's job?

I'm not going to be have the time to write anything in the programme this season. Don't expect to be at many games so I'm sure help with photos would be welcomed too.

Your efforts will be sorely missed Jon
I'll make sure I get our usual bits in for the Ladies and put me down for an occasional 'Man in the Stands' type comment. what are the plans/deadlines for preseason games Mr Chairman?

Great idea by CM7 but I suspect jonw is the only one who knows

I'll happily do the research on the players and suggest players to the chairman/programme editor and they can pick which players they'd like to be profiled.
Obviously if nobody rates the article after the first few games I'll stop

Can I float the idea that we have some thumbnails about our existing players, please! Not just past club history but birthplace, where they live now, full-time job etc I only ever seem to find out anything about our players when I read the programme at my occasional away match, and that's usually only their playing history! Perhaps the enthusiasts among us will know and remember but many like me who perhaps have been paying less attention and with less retentive memories would like to know about the current team. Especially those playing in that day's match. Especially now with a virtually new squad!

If you'd like to pull that info together 1672, I'll put it in the programme.

I think sometimes we assume that everyone is on-line these days, but there must be quite a few fans who are not. One organisation I belong to has the idea of putting interesting issues from the forum into their magazine, so non-computer folk can join in the debate in writing. It might be an idea to do the same with the programme.

If I knew the answers, Iron Webbo, I wouldn't be asking the question! And in answer to jimbo, can he suggest where on the web the info I have suggested could be found?

"OK, how about we start with Alex Revell and how his career has progressed since joining us?"
If I was a cynical man, Mr Chairman, I might suspect that you have only made that suggestion so that the words 'Leyton Orient' appear in the Iron programme.

Player Profiles not 100% finished, couple of missing pictures but will be updated throughout the season.

Thanks for the Alex article, duly included. Between us I suggest we update the Braintree profiles page and put it in the Boreham Wood programme.
Anybody else feel the urge to put pen to paper or finger to keyboard for the next edition?
