Firstly for those that don't know, the ladies require a point from their final game of the season this Sunday to become the first team in women's football history to clinch five successive league titles and promotions. A draw would see Braintree joing the likes of Spurs, Ipswich, Crystal Palace (and big teams like Norwich ) in the South East Combination league, the third tier (league one equivalent) of the women's pyramid. Only Chelmsford can catch the yellows, and coincidentally the final game of the Braintree season is Chelmsford 'City' Away. It won't be an easy game and the clarets will be looking to stop us winning the league, and gain revenge for the 4nil defeat in the County Cup semi final back in February. The reverse fixture, back in mid August saw Chelmsford snatch a one-nil victory at Cressing Road in the first ever meeting of the two sides in competitive fixtures. Chelmsford's usual pitch is unavailable so, rather handily for our players and fans, the game has been moved to White Notley, with a 2.30pm kickoff. Chelmsford will be well supported so it would be great to see as many Braintree fans there as possible to cheer the girls on Venue:White Notley FC, Oak Farm, Faulkbourne Road, White Notley, Essex. CM8 1SF Kickoff: 2.30pm

Good luck Sunday from me to all connected with the ladies. It has, after all, been nearly twelve months since the last championship!
