Ahead of Monday's fixtures, I thought I'd take a look at the teams that are likely to be in the shake up to finish in the play-offs. Not all the teams in the top 10 can win every outsatnding game as there are a few head to heads along the way.
Second placed Chelmsford have already secured a play-off place, they already have 79 points so even if they lost every game, Farnborough, St Albans City and Aveley can only get a maximum of 78 points. This is how the table is now and who they have left to play:
Pts GD Games Left
10 Farnborough 63 7 5 A v Tonbridge A, H vMaidstone U, H v Taunton T, A v Aveley, H v Chippenham T
9 St Albans C 63 12 5 A v Slough T, H v Chippenham T, H v Worthing, H v Hampton & RB, A v Tonbridge A
8 Bath C 63 16 6 A v Taunton T, H v Tonbridge A, A v Hampton & RB, H v Torquay U, A v Aveley, A v Slough T
7 Aveley 66 5 4 H v Havant & W, A v Truro C, a v Weymouth, H v Bath C
6 Hampton & RB 68 11 6 A v Worthing, H v Taunton T, H v Bath C, H v Dover A, A v St Albans C, A v Maidstone U
5 Worthing 69 23 5 H v Hampton & RB, A v Yeovil T, A v Dartford, A v St Albans C, H v Weston-S-M
4 Maidstone U 70 14 6 H v Welling U, A v Taunton T, A v Farnborough, H v Weymouth, A v Truro C, H v Hampton & RB
3 Braintree T 71 19 5 H V Hemel HT, A v Weston S-M, H v Taunton T, A v Havant & W, H v Eastbourne B
Currently the highest ranked team Braintree have left to play is Weston-Super-Mare who are fifteenth and I would expect them to pick up at least twelve points from their remaining fixtures. Maidstone meanwhile have to play two of the play-off contenders, but I can see them also picking up twelve points and at present the Iron are five goals better off when it comes to goal difference. Wothing have been sliding down the table in recent weeks and with Yeovil and Hampton to play, I cannot see them overhauling us. Hampton themselves have to play four of the top ten and how they get on against them will determine wheteher they can pip us or Maidstone to that third placed spot. I cannot see any of the other four teams catching us. Things will become a little clearer after tomorrows games although nothing will be decided for definite.
