Vanarama National League South
Braintree Town v Hemel Hempstead Town
The Iron complete their Easter program with a home game at the Rare Breed Meat Company Stadium on Monday against eighteenth placed Hemel Hempstead Town.
The Tudors sacked former Iron player and boss Brad Quinton at the beginning of March having been in charge for a year. They have appointed former Dartford boss Alan Dowson as interim manager until the end of the season. His first game in charge of the Tudors was against the Darts and ended in a one-one draw, before Saturday’s three-four home defeat to Aveley.
Their record so far this season is P 41 W 12 D 9 L 20 GF 50 GA 65 Points 45 leaving them five points above the drop zone. On the road their record is P 20 W 4 D 6 L 10 GF 25 GA 35 Pts 18.
Their wins came at Welling United (0-1) which is their only clean sheet on their travels, Chelmsford City (1-2), St Albans City (1-2) and Chippenham Town (2-3).
The last win they had in the League was on 23 January when they beat Farnborough at home two-one, since then it’s been nine losses and two draws.
Leading scorers for the Tudors this season are George Williams with eleven goals and Joe Iaciofano with six goals.
Former Iron players to turn out for the Tudors this season are Josh Hill, Alfie Matthews, Reece Grant and Josh Oyinsan.
The two sides met earlier in the season on 24 October 2023 with the Iron picking up three points recording their first away win, courtesy of a goal in each half from Will Davies. Highlights here:

The Iron clinched a crucial three points against play-off rivals St Albans City on Good Friday, but with Maidstone breathing down our necks and having a game in hand, there’s no time for a slip up against a side bang out of form.
