ONE IN ONE OUT
Central midfielder Jack Powell has joined Vanarama National League club Braintree Town on loan from Sky Bet League One side Millwall until January 3rd 2016. The promising youngster began training regularly with the first-team at the back end of the 2013/14 season but had to wait until the following campaign to make his first start, in the Capital One Cup game against Southampton in August, after appearing as a sub in the previous round. The midfielder made such an impression he was included again just four days later, marking his Championship debut in a 2-1 win against Blackpool with a man of the match winning display. Powell went on to feature a further four times for the Lions that season and has added three more games to his number of appearances during the current campaign.
Leaving the Avanti Stadium is Sammie Szmodics who has had his loan spell at Braintree curtailed early following a recall by his club Colchester United.

It's good that the Iron continues to attract and be trusted to take on these young players albeit in most cases for such a short period of time. The benefit must be mutual for all parties. Good luck and thanks go out to Sammy whom gave us some entertainment and impressed with his mature attitude. No surprise about the demise of Tony Humes at Col U, has anyone mentioned Dev's yet?

I thought it hilarious that U's fans wanted Devs, I don't think Devs had any ambition to manage a league club, he knew his limitations well and I think sees football management as much a hobby as an income. He was also probably smart enough to recognise that managing football league clubs is mostly not a stable career.

If jack Powell plays anything like he does for you's like he did on loan at concord a couple of seasons ago you have a serious player on your hands! Was quality for concord in the month and half was there!
What helps you is Cowley having so many contacts you'll keep seeing gems like this! With millwall it helps Neil Harris is very good friends with both of the cowleys!

Good to see Danny has acted quickly to bring in a replacement for Sammie who was real quality. Lets hope Jack lives up to underdogs billing and helps keep us in the hunt for the play offs.
Bringing in loan players costs money and thats why supporting the CHRISTMAS DRAW will help enormously in keeping the squad together and improving it when necessary.
