As well as being the first time we have scored 6 goals in a National League Premier Division game, this was the first time that we have scored 6 in a league game away since 6th January 2001. On that occasion we beat Bromley 6-0 away, ending the season in 3rd place in Ryman League Division One and getting promoted to the Premier Division.
That same season was also the last one in which we managed 6 at home in a competitive/league game. On 2nd September 2000 we beat Banbury United 6-0 in the F.A. Cup Preliminary Round. Then on 28th April 2001 we beat Romford 10-0 in the league.
We have of course managed to score 7 goals on three occasions in friendlies this season.
Michael Cheek's hat-trick was only our second in the National League Premier Division. The first was Dan Sparkes at Torquay last season in a 5-1 win. No player has yet managed the feat at home. Our last competitive home hat-trick was Stefan Payne's 3 goals at home to Basingstoke Town, in a 5-2 Blue Square Bet South win on 22nd Feb 2011. At the time he was on loan from Gillingham.
In a friendly this season, Jordan Cox scored three times at home to Billericay Town.
