Braintree Town are set to have a couple of players who were at Premier League side Swansea City last year as they get their pre-season fixtures under way tonight.
The Iron start their pre-season games with a home game against League Two side Leyton Orient (kick-off 7.45pm) tonight, before a trip to Thurlow Nunn League’s Long Melford tomorrow (kick-off 3pm) and then continue a hectic opening by entertaining a Millwall XI on Monday (kick-off 7.45pm).
It will be a chance for new manager Danny Cowley to get a first look at his players in action and there are also due to be a couple of trialists looking to impress.
The Iron boss said midfielder Kurtis March and defender Scott Tancock, who were both with Premier League Swansea last year, are due to be involved.
Cowley added: “Kurtis is a central midfielder who moved to Swansea for six figures from Cardiff.

“He’s aggressive and very good at turning the ball over and Scott Tancock was recommended to us by Justin Edinburgh, who had him on loan at Newport from Swansea.
“We’ll be having a look at the them both and they will both figure in the games over the weekend.”

DAY AT WEMBLEY: New Braintree Town keeper Will Norris with the FA Trophy for Cambridge United
Braintree Town manager Danny Cowley has added some Football League experience to his squad with the acquisition of goalkeeper Will Norris.
Norris, 21, comes on loan from Sky Bet League Two side Cambridge United for the whole season.
Norris was part of the Cambridge side to win promotion from the Vanarama National league Premier in 2014 and Cowley hopes his experience will be pivotal to the Iron's season.
He will provide competition for the club's other goalkeeper, Nathan McDonald, who has returned after a season-long loan at Enfield Town.
"Will played regularly when they got promoted from the Conference and again he played last year in the Football League," said Cowley.
"Cambridge rate him highly and I expect they hope him to be a future number one for the club as he's just been offered a new contract. He played at Wembley in the FA Trophy final so, although he's young, he's got good experience and this year is going to be pivotal to him.
"He will be fighting for the number one spot with Nathan, who I've been impressed with since he's come back from his time at Enfield Town last year.
"We're pleased with that aspect as it's healthy to have strong competition for places in all positions."
The National League Premier fixtures were announced on Friday and Cowley's first competitive game in charge of Braintree will be an away trip to Chester City.
That is followed quickly by two home games against Lincoln City and newly-relegated Tranmere Rovers but the Braintree manager is looking forward to the challenge.
"It all feels a little bit more real now with the fixtures being released and I think it does give you that little bit more direction and focus.
"We look forward to going to Chester, it certainly won't be an easy game but none of them will be.
"It's nice to know exactly where we're going and with Lincoln and Tranmere at home in a short space of time will make it a tough start, especially with a small squad. But it's a challenge we look forward to.
"We're under no illusions to how tough it's going to be because we're a part-time club and at this level we're competing against some really big clubs with football league experience."

Braintree Town manager Danny Cowley is delighted that he has been able to sign a player who he considered to be one of the top attacking midfielders in the Conference South last season.
Following the arrival of centre-half Matt Fry, Taylor Miles has become the second player to follow Cowley to the Iron from his former club, Concord Rangers.
The 19-year-old midfielder, who joined Rangers from West Ham, can play on the right side of the pitch or tucked in behind the strikers and the Braintree manager is delighted to have such a technically gifted player on board.
He told the Times: “Taylor has signed for us and we feel it’s a great one to have got sorted."
