A quite remarkable achievement given our very very small playing budget. Yes we all agree its not been a majestic season but lets put things into perspective. Prob the lowest supported club in the league lowest budget and yet (perhaps apart from Friday's debacle) week in week out we are very competitive at this level. Strictly speaking being part-time and paying less than 500 a week should mean we cant compete with your Barnets and Bristol Rovers but we do and the back 4 have been the bedrock again this season very rarely thrashed and I think we lost 8 games 1-0. Not having a regular goalscorer and perhaps an all out attacking midfielder in the squad has cost us dear this season. It will be my last home game Saturday as I will be flying back from sunny Portugal on the 25th so thought it time to name my player of the season - without a shadow of doubt its ALAN MASSEY. Full Marks to Bobby and the groundstaff as well the pitch has been excellent throughout. So raise a glass everyone for this little team in Essex who yet again defied the odds and earned another season with the big boys in Non-Leagues premier competition......an interesting summer awaits on the next direction of this great old club !!!

We have the third lowest average crowd, ahead of Welling & Alfreton. However this will have been boosted by the 2215 for the Telford freebie. Alfreton had 3 less than us for their lowest attendance of 442. It is difficult to keep up Conference level football with the limited resources available and all who contribute to this should be congratulated. I'm sure the likes of Dartford and Ebbsfleet would like to maintain a place in this league instead of being a yo-yo club.

Yes it is a remarkable achievement and in the last four seasons the club has punched well above its weight. The shame is that the people of Braintree don't appreciate what they've got on their doorstep, who'd have though that we'd ever be paying host to teams such as Luton and Bristol Rovers to name but two. The credit once has got to go the Manager who has worked wonders and got some great young players to the club. The Chairman and the board continue to keep the club on the level with their wise financial stewardship. A testing season for all at times but we have come through it, the highlight must have been the 5-1 win at Torquay it was a shame that so few got to see it. Dan Sparkes player of the season for me.

Agree with all the sentiments above. I noticed when we had 650 for the game against Lincoln that Bristol Rovers had a gate of over 8000 and Grimsby a gate of nearly 6000. Competing at this level for a club the size of Braintree is a great achievement. Maybe last season we got a bit carried away finishing 6th. That really was punching above our weight. With a planned move to a new stadium and as long as we can continue to hold our own at this level in the meantime, maybe the Braintree public will start to realise that they have a football team worth getting out to support. Then the club can push on again and who knows. It took five years to get up from the Conference South, and getting up from this league is obviously that much harder, but not impossible.

As stated elsewhere for something so important there is no news and hasn't been for some time - WHY ?
