This games live on my TV box, but to be honest it's all a bit tame. I'd estimate the gate to be 1500+ so hopefully our team will showcase themselves so the extra fans consider returning.
Sean Marks was the standout for me so far. His turn and shot was sublime, unfortunately going just wide. Telford look a good passing team without the final product, lets hope that doesn't change. Our team tbh don't look neither fish nor foul.

Yes I have to agree mjt. Even the missus said that she found it hard to watch. The thing I don't get is why the players choose to have an off day when the club are doing all they can to make the day a success. Remember the last time we had a bit of a crowd and the sniff of a cup run, the cameras were there to see our lads allow themselves to be humiliated 6-1 by Chesterfield who didn't exactly go far themselves thereafter. I'm disappointed for the board, just how do we get people in with performances like todays when more than half the crowd would have been potential fans, but won't bother again.

Could of been worse I suppose.......we could of charged these new fans. Can't see many returning, especially paying!
Sky sports show the gate as 2115......deserved about 250

yes Ozbrit feel for the board they can do no more, and agree be lucky if you get 10 of the extras turn up again especially if they have to pay.
Never seen such a poor performance not one player stood out - Marks best of a very bad bunch.
Where do the club go form here ?

Feel desperately sorry for the Chairman and committee who put more effort into getting people to the game in the last three weeks than the players put in tonight,I reckon about 1,500 casuals that we won't see back again all that hard work undone in 90 terrible minutes. horrible lack of quality, I don't think their rookie keeper had a shot to save all night.
I have to admit I laughed out loud when Mensah was named man of the match, my Nine year old could have knocked him off the ball tonight. with the exception of our keeper and Sam at left back and to an extent Marks the players didn't look bothered or play with much pride - the place should have been rocking tonight but it was as flat as a pancake.

Largest crowd in Football Conference tonight, A FOOTBALL LEAGUE size crowd. 2115 nearly catching Colchester standard gate. In my 26 years at Club this is highest for league game. Well done to all people who helped us get this big crowd.(Thanks for passing word on). Will post tomorrow about performance maybe not I don't remember seeing one. Down and deflated at present off to bed.
BUT THANKS BRAINTREE.

A couple standing alongside me from Earls Colne said they were hoping for some respite as U's fans, but on seeing what Conference football offers they'll now be less critical of their team from now on.
I agree with braintreeo it's a slap in the face for the Chairman and everyone involved in putting this offer together.
A few weeks ago we drew 1-1 at Bristol Rovers with gas fans saying we were possibly the best team they had seen. Last week we whacked Torquay for five. From champs to chumps in 90 minutes flat, just incredible not one shot on target against the side with the worst goals against in the league and by some.
I won't be back this year.

A performance of massive disappointment and no one who came on a freebee tonight is likely to come back in a hurry any time soon. As a season ticket holder I felt robbed. Mensah and Isaac were awful, whilst Telford had obviously done their homework on Akinola; constantly doubling up on him. It shows how poor we were when Marks was one of the better players. Well done to all those who helped towards the massive crowd.

Man of the match: Nick Hamann. Says it all really. But just as some of the Torquay fans were kind to us last week, let’s be generous. I thought Telford looked a pretty decent side, fast, strong and workmanlike. We’ve seen a lot worse here this season. Not sure how they got to be where they are.

might as well send Mensah back and play a youngster he isn't worth a game nothing from him at all, he couldnt control pass or shoot a ball and so lightweight.
Isaac was awful and but for 20 minutes Akinola disappeared along with just about everyone else.
Of course why not bring back the much heralded Mr Strutton, the club waited weeks to play him only to then send out on loan, suspect there is more to this than meets the eye.

Disappointing result, performance in front of a very good crowd. It's typical really that the big crowd were there and the TV cameras that we play one of worst games I've seen in a while. Could of played all night and wouldn't of scored you get them games sometimes, but the crowd and TV cameras seem to overcome a lot of the players who just didn't get going. Lacked any width in the game I thought poor Mitch down the right had no help in front of him or helping him defend was alone all game, we played far to narrow without putting any crosses in. Dan Sparkes was missed big time even for a good delivery in the box. Marks worked hard and was probably the best player we had out there. Thought Mulley or Peters should of came on tho to offer the extra width and help to Mitch. But was a really good turn out from the crowd lets hope that performance hasn't put them all off

Can only echo what others have said, well done to all concerned on achieving such a large gate for this game but very sad about the poor team performance. This was certainly the poorest Iron display I've seen this season & TBH, if it were my first game at the stadium I wouldn't be rushing back to pay to see another one. Why do we always seem to play better against the top teams but are often poor against those lower in the table ? Having said that, fair play to Telford - they definitely deserved to win the game.

You can stop and watch better games on a park pitch for free any Saturday.
Why pay £15 + for that.

Can't blame the cameras and large crowd for the players being overawed. Remember Luton last season, couldn't get a bigger game.

Can we please stop using would/could/should of? The correct English is would/could/should have, or alternatively would've, could've, should've. Thank you.

Can we have an end to all this nit-picking over grammar, please! If anyone is to blame it is the schools and teaching methods, which have failed to teach it properly.
As to the match, my son and I watched it and could not believe how the Iron were so passive and lack-lustre. There appeared to be no urgency at all in their play and we were slowest at seeing a loose ball. Every time we got possession, we held onto it a shade too long, by which time at least two Telford players were bundling us off the ball.
Devs may be a good tactician and finder of players, but perhaps he lacks the strong personality to get the players adrenalin going. Perhaps we need a Haka, like the All Blacks do for their matches to get the players blood fired up.
I cannot understand how Telford, playing the way they did, are bottom of the table

All credit to Telford, their position looks desperate, but they came here full of passion, commitment and never stopped running.
