Long Melford are back on top in the ever changing First Division leadership race. A Jamie Griffiths goal was enough to secure a 1-0 victory over King’s Lynn Reserves although the Villagers must have been worried when the floodlights went out during stoppage time!
It’s not very every week that Cornard United score 5 goals in the same match but they did on Saturday and still only got 1 point from their 5-5 draw at Needham Market Reserves. The point was enough however to move them off the bottom of the First Division table. Dereham Town Reserves now have that dubious honour.
---- KO CUP HOLDERS RE-INSTATED
Team Bury unintentionally fielded an unregistered player in their First Division KO Cup 2nd Round match at Debenham LC on October 14th. As a result Team Bury have been removed from the competition and cup holders Debenham LC re-instated. The quarter final tie will now be Debenham LC v. Great Yarmouth Town and this has been scheduled to Tuesday December 2nd.
---- FORM GUIDE
Based on their last six league matches the current in form teams are:
First Division pts Saffron Walden Town 16 Long Melford 13 Swaffham Town 13

Was at the Long Melford game Saturday. King's Lynn played alright and will feel aggrieved they didn't get a point out of the game. A pretty dull affair ruined as a spectacle by the strong wind, even the flood lights got bored!
