Well done in the end against what sounded a spirited Weymouth Town and their travelling support who all played their part in an eight goal thriller.

After all the concerns about the cost of admission hopefully everyone was happy because we got an extra 30 mins for nothing. He! He!
Good performance by Weymouth, they did tire in extra time understandably so, also great support.

Some good football from Weymouth tonight; massive contrast to how we play. Good to see our front three all bag a goal (or 2). Stiff tests coming up, starting with Woking. Could've done without the extra 30 minutes. MOTM - Akinola.

What a night of mixed emotions for both sets of supporters! This is what the FA Cup is all about with Weymouth giving a display which IMO was as good if not better than some of the Conference sides seen at Cressing Rd this season. Keep playing like that and they must surely get promoted.
At 3-1 I thought it was game over, but that dreadful clearance by Nick gifted them their 2nd and it was game on again. At last both Dan and Simeon have found their shooting boots and Dans goal to make it 3-1 was just reward for all his hard work and determination all over the pitch.
Solid displays from most of the Iron players, but we miss captain Kenny and I hope he will be fit for Saturdays game v Woking.
MOTM for me between Simeon Akinola and Dan Walker.

I really enjoyed the game tonight, it was all about getting through to the first round proper but it turned into a bit of a classic to be honest. I thought Weymouth were the better of the two teams for long periods their passing and ball retention was excellent but having said that I have no doubt that individually Braintree were better Walker and Akinola in particular were excellent, In the end Braintree's experience won through and hopefully a bumper gate and TV slot vs Chesterfield await.

Really enjoyed the game last night, despite the result - a real old-fashioned thud and blunder FA Cup tie. I was very proud of our young team in twice coming back from two down, but Braintree were just that bit better at the end, and deserved the win. Your supporters and officials clapping the Terras off was a very nice gesture and much appreciated. Good luck against Chesterfield in Round 1.

Have to say good enjoyable game last night where we saw the best and worst of the iron last night. Awesome in attack Akinola and Walker were a real speedy handful and took goals well. Dan is really improving and hopefully his goals will now be the springboard he needs. Thought we looked dangerous going forward, but fair credit to Weymouth they attacked in numbers and knew where to hit us. Beardy looked a handful for Mitch and Mass and he was unlucky with his shot against the post at 0-0. Defensively to concede 3 goals you would say we looked vulnerable but we was discussing last night where is the weak link ? Individually we have a great defence but collectively I dont know what the problem is I cannot pin point it. Thought Painey looked as though he needs some game time and Chez is aimlessly running with no end product. For me On sat I would drop him and slot Kenny in to play in a diamond rather than a flat midfield four and just sit Painey in front of Massey and Showumni , yes I would rest Mitch for Sat. Now we have a run of fixtures rotate fit players and rest the likes of Jordan, Mulley and Chez. Even Nik has made some errors of late inc 2nd goal last night. Team Ratings Nik 6 - As above Ryan -8 (Note 4 Sean) EL capitan lead from the front put in a shift professional and composed Sam - 8 Easy game for him I felt he looked comfortable Mitch 6.5 - ? Could be weak link ? Alan 7 - Did ok and will always posses an aerial threat Matt 6 - Looked a little rusty Chez 5 - Did little with an end product that delivered James 7 Ran at the full backs , hooray !! Simeon 9 MOTM Blistering pace and awesome first goal from him. Dan 8.5 Some great runs and kept going till final whistle Great goals now to build on. Jordan 6.5 - Did enough but many fans on his back very quickly, Goal silenced the boo boys
Subs Charlie 8 Looked like a star, With him fit and the others in form I hope the Marks man is The bench warmer !! Dan 7 Few runs against some tired legs.
All in all well done a hard fought victory and credit to Weymouth who play like that with courage and threat im sure will be heading for the conference soon. Respect to their many fans who made the effort to see their team too. On to the small issue of Woking !! Rendall and Sole hmmmm lets go for it COYI

Thrilling game last night, honestly one of the best I've seen. Proper football, two teams leaving it all on the pitch in the hope of a glamour tie.
Not even gutted in truth, just bursting with pride at our lads performance last night. Have to admit even at both 2-0 and 3-1 I thought that was that, but the way we kept fighting back was just fantastic. In the end you were just that bit fitter and I think that was the difference.
I saw a few people filming the game, do you do highlights?
All the very best to you in round one. I'm a Notts County fan too, so hope you do the spirites!

Highlights should be on youtube sometime this week I reckon, search btfc and we should be there. Just dont watch the Southport game! I know its near Halloween etc but that was a real horror show from us !! Good luck for rest of season

Fully deserve the ovation weymouthfc received from our own fan's, gave their all. Dan walker was outstanding now fit and it's showing. Only weak point for me and it is showing this season is Sam. Needs to focus stop coasting and taken the easy bog standard hoof up field. Lower direction needed, to much air. The last few game's his been identified as the week link and team's target him. Lost count the amount of times we have conceded down our left. Need another left back to push Sam, his in comfort mode. Smith not as quick needs more game's more solid. We need to sort this quick or it will cost us.

Completely disagree with Chez's rating, he covered almost every blade of grass putting out fires and chasing lost causes. When he got the ball he used it well, feeding Mulley, Akinola, and Walker to cause havoc, going forward. Defensively we were very poor, all were turned far too easily by the Weymouth attackers. Nik seems to be far too comfortable imo was far better last season when Nathan had started as first choice. Maybe 1 or 2 games for Carl to see what he can do may push Nik back to last seasons performances. 1st half last night he was very quite, with Massey asking him to be more vocal.

Difficult one this; I like his energy and work rate. I was sat close to Marks again last night and he kept wondering where Chez was going at times, critical of the runs he was making. I think Weymouth were at their most dangerous when we emptied midfield and Chez & Mulley were high up the pitch. Think it was hard to single out Sam as the weak link; often he has no cover from the player in front of him and is left 2 against 1. Peters and Mulley on the right side have a much better understanding of each other's whereabouts and duties. The return of Clerima I'm sure will tighten things up again at the back.

I have to agree with 'dbbn' regarding the full backs. Peters and Mulley have a very good understanding both defensively and especially in attacking mode. In the Barnet game, the understanding between Sparkes and Peters did not work as well. I am not criticising Sparkes, because his defensive work is strong, and he always looks to protect his full back, but Mulley/Peters works so much better.
Having said that, the same works on the other side with Habergham/Sparkes, where the understanding is very good. Dan Walker has been great going forward from the wide left position, but leaves Sam a little isolated.
My preferred option is to play Peters/Mulley right, and Habergham/Sparkes on the left, with Akinola and Walker up top. The only down side to that, is we can't play the long ball, which we do have a habit of some times. Neither Akinola or Walker have aerial strength.
It's great having opinions, and a forum that allows you to express them, but in the cold light of day, Dev's is the Manager, and usually gets it right when it matters.
Well done Dev's, although we all like to think we are great Managers too!!!
Also, I'll join the others in saying what a great performance from the Weymouth Team, and the Weymouth Fans. Much respect to you guys.

Ok so my Chez rating does not meet your approval, so let me just gauge what team line up you would go for with a fully fit team ? Simon's 11 1 Nik 2 Ryan 3 Sam 4 Alan 5 Remy 6 Matt 7 Kenny 8 James 9 Simeon 10 Dan W 11 Charlie Subs Carl Mitch Dan S Jordan/Chez Micheal Reserves Sean Steve Joe May Joe Moore Ryan C Tough one to call but im not Devs. Left out Omar too as think only here for 1 month ??

Edit remove Pentney and put Cox I wouldn't have a keeper on the bench for all games.
