Just read a load of sh**e about todays match on the Halifax forum, so let me put them right.
What a big ugly bruising non footballing side they are. Their entire approach is long hoofball or long throws (aka Stoke of a few years ago) upto their big forwards. They must have got towards the top of the league by battering their opponents into submission, because on todays display it wasn't by playing football. That said this TEAM of ours worked their socks off and once again our defence was magnificent coping with their giant forwards.
I really hope we don't see another side like Halifax at Cressing Rd again this season.

I have a vested interest in both teams and I find the above comments a little perplexing.
It was a poor game full stop and only came to life when halifax tired with about 5 mins to go normal time. As to they playing up to their giant forward seriously? Hattersley is no way a giant forward by any stretch of the imagination. But when you have a player like Marc Roberts that can throw the ball 40 yards at a canter, lets face it you are going to use it. Im sure Alan Devonshire would love a player like that.
It felt like neither side showed any real ambition ot push on and win the game and a draw was a fair result I suppose. After watching my home town time for the first time this season it showed how much they missed Lee Gregory.
Anyway next up is Barnet. Lets hope the Iron can bloody their noses.

Just when you think you may have this footy tipping sussed it turns around and kicks ya up the jacksy. So hardly a cracker as the two sides battled out (what sounded on the BBC Essex commentary) a dour encounter. It seems that Halifax won both the corner and referee card count, otherwise there didn't seem to have been a lot going on.
Despite dropping two points I see that Halifax have risen a place to second by virtue of Torquay losing to cellar dwellers Telford.

Poor game with both teams unable to create anything in the final third; both guilty of giving the ball away. As said above Halifax's only threat came from corners and long throws. Nick had one save to make from a free kick whilst the Shaymen keeper had nothing to worry him. Best chance fell late on to the Iron but was blazed over from 15 yards. MOTM for me was Habergham; nothing spectacular but performed well. Walker is a worry for me, lack of control, falling over, I don't think he should be employed as a wide player. Marks in the stand near me got quite vocal, especially when Sam was tripped by their right midfielder. Apparently the ref was "melt" (whatever that means) for not producing a red card.

Well it should have been a red card. No attempt to go for the ball, only tried to hurt Sam for winning the ball off him a few seconds earlier. Disgraceful tackle.

"before Michael Bakare missed a chance for the visitors to snatch it."
Did he swap shirts?

On the Halifax forum under the predictions thread one poster almost got it spot on.
It read Brain 1 BRAWN 1 attendance 919.
It was a draw as we all know but he was only 10 out on the attendance. Well done, but the bit that tickled me was him describing his team as BRAWN which as my earlier post indicated they were.

^ A pleasant read, fair play to that Halifax fan. Well done to Ash for promoting his garden shed!
