Last year we won 3-2 against them the season before we played a mid-season friendly that we were leading 4-0 before a floodlight failure mid-way through the second half

Enjoyable game tonight, although losing 2 nil lot of positives and if we dont sign Mitch we are going to lose a quality player. Thought sparky looked good and so did Ryan although his mistake for the first goal. To be fair West Ham were quick and fit the lad that scored looked League or even championship quality. Always nice to see Teddy Sheringham signing autographs! Overruling thought Centre Half not sure if lad in first half is the answer, looked ok maybe a little nervous

Again. at least 3 goals went begging in the first half, which we dominated territorially, due to poor accuracy of shooting at goal. Eventually, the much fitter and sharper WHU got on top, beating us to most loose balls. We did not help our cause with hanging on to the ball too long, often deliberately it seemed at time, to draw WHU players in, then we were promptly dispossessed by them. The lad that scored, Elliott Lee, has scored a lot of goals through the youth ranks at WHU, his Dad was Rob Lee who also played at WHU, and he has another brother who was also at the club. Nice to see Dev's put on 16 year old Joe Maybanks, could have given him a bit more than 5 mins, but a nice early birthday pressie for him, 17 on Thursday!!

It was always going to be tough without a recognised striker on the pitch.
I thought we pressed them quite well though, and it meant that they couldn't play it short all of the time.
I agree, I thought Ryan and Dan S did ok for their first real run out for a while. Also very impressed with Mitch, and would love to see him stay. Worked hard, used the ball well, and always wanted it.
