There's a worrying story in today's B&WT about Deano possibly not playing next season. He appears to have indicated he'll be watching Brentford instead. It's only based on one tweet, but the worrying thing is that he's not denying it. It goes without saying that his is the most important signature for next season so it would be nice to know what's going on

Was it not announced that he had signed on? Feel a little cheated as he was a big draw for renewing the season ticket. Good luck to him though, he's given his all for us.

Think someone from club needs to give fans some info. We are the only club in conference to have no announcements of any real substances since last game V Grimsby. I understand if we are in a summer break but that is not stopping Dan and Deano rumours. I trust in Devs but Dean would be a MASSIVE blow to next seasons prep, if Ryan dont sign on how is Devs gonna get to the game s??

I get the feeling a league club has come in for him but we're asking for to much money so he's decided to call it a day.

Would be absolutely gutted if true. After a quick look on twitter looks like he mentions something may be announced tomorrow, whatever it is he seems happy about it.

If an opportunity arises for a player to go full time professional and live the dream then why would anybody stand in your way........ I also heard that Deano signed a contract which is the only reason a fee would be involved..... Devs will have a plan B and C in place, it's just another feather in the clubs hat that we have produced another football league player!!!

Agree with mjt Deano is way to good for the conference, he has earnt his chance by playing good football and giving his all. The best defender I have seen at the Amlin, will be huge boots for Dev's to fill. Good luck Dean, really hope it all works out for you at Stevenage.

Yes good luck to Deano he has earned his elevation into the football league. Stevenage needed a player like him last season its a good acquisition. If Deano does well it relects well on Braintree too Lets hope Devs can find a quality new partner for Big Al.

This is for the web site please.....would like to thank you all at the club, from the board to the fans. Loved every second at Braintree. Made me and my family very welcome and that ment the world to me. As reading through the page, I no you all no this was my last chance and there was no way I could let this pass. It's every kids dream growing up to be a full time footballer. The club has great people running it and so many volunteers that give up there spare time to make sure the other side of things get done. I won't name names but there are so many of you that do there bit for the club which made it special. Don't want people blaming bobby for my move as he put my meat prices up by 100% from £5 to £10 (haha only messing bobby) anyways thank you all for everything again. With the management team and players you still have there things are in good hand. See you all at a game soon hopefully. Deano AKA Jesus

Definitely a big loss, Wellsy has come on in leaps and bounds in his two seasons with us. Good luck at Broad Lane Deano.
