Went to Wembly with my pal Peter Foster to see Cambridge v Gateshead in the play off to get into football league. Enjoyed it. The crowd/The Football/and yes Cambridge just did enough to win.
I think I would like to see the Iron at Wembly next year, great day out for fan's.
Let's us be next's year's Cambridge.

But a big hit to our gates. Luton and Cambridge both gone in the same season, our biggest two attendances and bye bye Cambridge as our traditional boxing day match up. We lose the 40 mile trip up the M11 and keep that luverly 400 mile trip to Gateshead - oh well!
So what does that leave us with in the south! Dover, Welling, Salisbury, Woking, Eastleigh and Barnet & Aldershot. In the west it's gotta be Bristol Rovers matched up with FGR.
I'll guess Salisbury/Eastliegh, Woking/Aldershot, Dover/Welling, Braintree/Barnet. That wouldn't be too bad.

At Wembley I also spent the day also with Alex Pike the Gosport Borough manager who got his team into the final of F A Trophy at Wembley. Gosport Borough in the Conference south made £250,000 from their cup run into final. So there is big money to be made by getting to semi's and final. A Cup run could help replace lost local Derby revenue's. ( WE at the Iron don't factor in cup money to our budget but it would help if we got it for end of season push???).. Dover's chairman thinks they would bring 3/400 to Braintree as it's one of the more local game's for them.

By aa route planner Barnet and Welling are exactly the same milage from our ground so could be either for xmas fixtures.

You know the old saying Barry, believe only half of what you see and even less of what you hear. Dover didn't even average a home gate of 700 in this their promotion year. Dover only has 35000 population so quite a few less than even Braintree. Though with their tradition of playing at this level they would have a greater latent support base than us.

I always forget one club So Torquay play Bristol and FGR will have to be partnered with a Midland club. I can't see the conference breaking up a Kent derby to match us with Welling, but stranger things happen when we talk of football administrators.

Don't count your chickens Ironman. Knowing our luck the Torquay game will be on a Tuesday night in January

It's amazing to think how close Braintree came to the play offs this year.

At home we both beat Cambridge and Halifax and drew with Gateshead and Grimsby. We also won at the champions.
We're making progress.

And not forgetting the excellent 0-0 draw at Halifax after all the travelling on the days leading up to it. With halifax's stomping home record I'd have that down as maybe our second best result of the season!
