Re: Braintree Away Good Friday 3pm Kick Off « Reply #11 on: April 13, 2014, 07:11:15 PM » Funny to think that we were cheering Braintree in the bar yesterday as they embarrassed Luton. That result means that Braintree still have something to play for. Hopefully they will lose on Tuesday and the other results will go against them.
I agree with the sentiments that we have to be bold and try to win this game. I still believe that two more wins would see us safe for another year.

Burman versus Devonshire. Win this one and we'll still have enough in the tank to ensure Conference premier football next season. Lose and we are in it up to our necks. Hopefully we will still have everything to play for come the last game of the season. Aldershot play Hereford that day too. Lets all do the conga in Warwickshire. Hopefully.

Not the greatest of games but job done. The game was very scrappy with few chances but when one did come along midway through the first half Dan Sparkes but a ball over to Kenny D whom took his time and volleyed the ball to the left of the goal keeper. In the second half Dartford came out with a game plan to fall over at every opportunity Deano took a booking when it could quite easily been a sending off. The Darts were very disappointed! We had a couple of half chances the best going to Dan Sparkes with a follow on header to Jordan Cox's. Dartford almost scored a spectacular own goal when a defender intercepted a low cross. Five minutes injury time and hearts in mouth time when at the death Nick pulled of two instinctive saves to deny the equaliser. MOTM Kenny Davis played a true captains role today. A big up for Dartford Goalkeeper whom took and gave a lot of abuse and was applauded at the end of the game but just because his surname is Julian doesn't mean he's gay! Come one people I thought we'd moved on! The Roller Coaster ride continues!

I think we are in the terriotry of squeaky bum time !! Not a great spectacle of football today but a class goal seperated the two teams. Unreal double save from Nik at the end a definate Iron HD replay needed. I think we can say Dartford will be enjoying their trip to the melbourne stadium next season. On a quick note well done to Eastleigh on promotion we may or may not be seeing you next season Mr Reason and Mr Wright. I have a car full heading to Barnet on Monday I hope we are joined by many of the Iron Army to hopefully see a great revenge game and 3 points heading back to Essex. Which then surely sets up what could be the greatest game in the clubs history. Good turn out today lets doulbe that at least for next week. Team Ratings today Nik 8- Little to do exept the amazing double save at the end Ryan 7 - A real game of 2 halves for him Sam 7- Never a foot wrong Deano 6 - Hearts in mouth moment for the handball and a dodgy foul Alan 7 - Tower of strenght again Chez 7 - Worked socks off as always James 7.5 Looked a threat when attacking Matt 7 Hard to beat in front of central defenders Kenny 9 MOTM ( I am his biggest critic but today he showed some clever touches and performed like a real captain. Took goal with aplomb! Sean 7- Solitry figure upfront and his usual hustle and bustle but should of scored 3 times !!
Subs Jordan 7 - I really like his introduction as it sent us up a gear again and posed a threat in the air Luke 7 Did well in a rare chance I would be surprised if he stays for next season due to lack of games.
See you all Monday at the Hive, Lets get the boys Buzzing !!!1 COYI

I listened to the game from the comfort of bed and wonder is the tension worse when you hear but can't actually see any of the action? Most of our games seem to consist of our goalmouth misses followed by rearguard actions, particularly towards the end of games. Kenny Davis's strike sounds like one not to miss on the match highlights.
Well done for another win and the dream remains alive.

Only thing that really mattered today was getting the result so job done, having said that this really was a game that Braintree should have made safe much earlier, Dartford were woeful going forward and rarely threatened.
Slightly odd going 4-5-1 today and needed a wonderful strike from Kenny to win it. Dartford's keeper was different class and the second half save he made from the corner was as good as you would have seen anywhere in the country today. He also gets full marks from me for his banter and wished Braintree well if they get into the play offs.
Three points at Barnet Monday is a must.
