Great first half first Nuneaton's Theo Streete nets an own goal then Dan Holman doubles the Braintree lead on 13 mins. With Forest Green losing at Southport we swap 5th place with Nuneaton and into the fourth play-off position. Nuneaton pull one back via Dave Hibbert after 69mins. After a nervous last few mins, IRON hold out for another great 3 points

What another great TEAM performance!!! Anyone else wondering what Nuneaton actually had to offer?? We created many chances and in the final third we dominated them. One game at a time but the table dont lie. 5th at the moment and after a great week this week lets hope the boys all rally round and put in some great performances again for our long away days. Team ratings Nik -7 Again little to do Ryan 8 Playing his best football to date Sam 7 Never spectacular but always solid Matt 7 Never really in trouble Deano 8.5 Like a rock tonight ! MOTM Chez 8 Hussled and busselled away Kenny 8 I have critised him a lot lately but played really well, good to hear him talking tonight. James 8 Real threat to their left back great shot in first half Sparky 7 In and out tonight but his confidnce is up up up Dan 8 A little selfish at times but to win the raffle you have to buy a ticket. Sean 7.5 Had the beating of their weak defence
Alex 6 Looked nippy when introduced.
Surprised Luke and Josh never came on maybe a bit of squad rotation over the next week is required. COYI

Braintree carried the good form from Tuesday into tonight's game. They deserved to be two up by half time by an O.G. and good individual goal from Dan Holman. In the second half we again dominated and perhaps Dan should have put away one of the three chances he had. James Mulley also had a good chance, he doesn't seem fully committed at the moment perhaps that's due to his recent injury. After conceding a sloppy goal we soon regained control and Nuneaton never really threatened again. Great noise from the Iron fans at the end of the game whom quite rightly sung the team all the way off the pitch. Now for the testing three away games.

My first Braintree game. It's mad to think that little Braintree now have a real shot at the football league!
When I retire I'm going to be like that bloke at the back of the stand who chuntered for the whole game!
