So an exact duplicate result from our opening game of the season, ( Bloody Dan Walker !) Not the greatest spectle but another point to the collection. Should of won with our 2nd half performance and Hereford should be renamed Hoofford for the cluless way they played. Big physical guys but not a scobby between them really , Not surprising they near the drop zone. Ok turnout today hope few more decide to come see Wrexham on tues

Sounds from what you say and the radio coverage that Hereford were a poor side and we had an off day, though Devs seemed reasonably happy with what he'd seen going by his post match interview.
We still seem vulnerable to conceding within minutes of scoring, our players should be mindful of that.

When is a penalty not a penalty?

That's not unique to Braintree its a classic football cliché.
Not a great game today. The first half was very scrappy with us scoring a scrappy goal through Dan Holman on the goal line. Although we had about 60% of the possession we couldn't press home the advantage. Herefords goal was well crafted.
With Luke Daly coming on for James Mulley at the start of the second half we looked a bit more lively but the ball spent far too much time in the air and not on the floor. Devs kept wanting the ball pumped down the middle but I wasn't sure that was the best tactics against their four big lads at the back.
It was not until the eighty fifth minute and some individual brilliance by Bernard whom scrapped the bar with a shot from the right hand side which suddenly spurred the Iron into a series of attacks. Dan Holman had a good shot from the edge of the box just going wide. With a couple of corners finally given by a poor ref a late goal looked possible but alas time ran out.

Have to agree that the ref was poor and sean was rugby tackled to the floor but baldy never saw it !! Team ratings for today: Nik- 6 Wont bother washing kit for tues never got dirty Ryan- 7 Some good touches but maybe should of covered round for goal quicker Sam-7 Steady as usual Deano- 7 Marshalled the line well needs to be more of a threat when attacking corners. Al -6 Played a lot of head tennis today and maybe was at fault for goal??? Kenny- 7 Did ok today and played full game Matt -6 Committed a couple of silly fouls again James- 5 Very quiet not surprised subbed at half time Dan- 7 Some neat touches but should hit target more, could not miss the goal!! Sean- 8 MOTM ! Distinct improvment today showed heart in second half and looked a thret to their defence Needs a goal Bernie 7- Some real signs of quality again
Luke -7 Played well and attacked the beefy left back well and got crosses in
Interesting to see the set up today looked attacking, playing Dan on the Left second half and Bernie first was a clear tactic although to see 2 natural lefts on the bench in Daley and Sparkes was a bold move maybe has Tues in mind ?? COYI

I thought Berbard looked lost out on the left flank for the first 80 minutes till him and dan switched. I have no problem with going long looking for seans flicks as he was winning most today, but whoever is with him needs to be much much closer dan spend most of the time as far away as possible, if that's the way were going to play Dev's got to get the 2 front men closer together! As for the twat in the black, look forward to seeing him Tuesday night I hear!!!!!

The Iron totally dominated the second half, and were camped in and around the Hereford goal area for most of the last twenty minutes, but failed to score, despite many shots. The stats in the NLP list us as having 12 shots off target, by far the highest in yesterday's matches! We need to practice target shooting at goal in our training sessions, IMO. With a bit more accuracy we could have won this game easily. Despite almost all of the Hereford players being inches taller than us, man for man,it was nice to see that we won most of the headers, and possibly why we were playing a lot of long-ball stuff. We were also winning, and holding onto, possession much better than in other recent matches. An entertaining match when seen from the stand, we thought, but we wondered just how much they see from the dugout, low down and staring into the sun in the second half!

My man of the match matt solid as always, with Deano close. Great performance again against another named team and full time, set themselves out for the draw and got it, kennys touch not quite on it at the mo but the work rate of the closing down position is second to none, see why he was held high when in the England c squad. Great position by massy to ease the player away Ryan should have read that one for their goal, is the only negative in the match, learn and move on.
