TONIGHT - PITCH FINE - GAME ON Iron welcome Cambridge United - to the Amlin Stadium Despite the heavy overnight showers, the Iron ground staff report that the pitch drainage renovation works completed over the past few days are coping well and that there is no doubt about this evening's match at home to Cambridge United going ahead. No pre-match pitch inspection is planned and turnstiles will open at 6.15pm.

No you won't because I live miles away in Somerset We'll see Wills soon enough, he's going to take time out from his holiday to Harwich to pop in a and berate the chairman about not dropping down to Skrill South because we are permanently waterlogged.

I will call in the club when I'm on holiday in April to ask why my letter asking for the club to play home matches at Portman Road and pull out the Skrill North wasn't obeyed to.

Getting away from the idiot that is Wills for a moment, i would like to say a massive well done to Bobby and Steve, who, in my opinion, are absolute heroes. To get our pitch in such good condition after all the atrocious weather we have had to put up with recently, is down to their extremely hard work and dedication. I was fortunate to spend time with them today, leading up to the match and witnessed first hand, how hard they both work. Gents, well done and thank you, it was an honour to spend time with you both today, to witness the hard work you both put in.

Considering we don't appear to have a full-time groundsman/woman/person the dynamic duo who have stepped into the breach have done a great job and it looked amazing. Hard to believe it was under water a fortnight ago. Well done Bobby and Steve. mention in dispatches long over due.

In the trying times thrown at the amlin bobby and myself would like to thank those who posted and spoke to us directly, game Up n be frustrating and hard work to prep the pitch, only to see the weather beat you. I would like to put it out there thanks to those who where able to find some time to lend a hand to get game on. Chances are that more testing weather is a head and a call to arm's may be requested, Steve archer is taken some contact details of anyone that may be able to offer some time if required as this helps with co ordernation to maximise effective time. Let's try our utmost to get these games played with the help of the fan's playing a big part not just on the day of a game. Up the iron.
