CAMBRIDGE MATCH - POSTPONED AGAIN
This morning's downpours - beat the ground staff
This evening's (Tuesday's) Skrill Premier Division fixture at home to Cambridge United has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch. A local referee inspected the Amlin Stadium pitch at 12 and advised that the pitch was not fit for play. Despite the second postponement of this fixture, the Club would like to thank the staff and volunteers who worked hard to clear the surface water, often during heavy rain! Both clubs have discussed the possibility of re-scheduling the fixture next Tuesday, 14th January. This new date is subject to confirmation and would, in any case, be subject to the outcome of Cambridge United's FA Trophy fixture on Saturday. More news on that when we have it! Attention now switches to this coming Saturday's Skrill Premier Division fixture at Woking.

Thought I would go and watch Stortfords game instead but that's been called off too! We must be having as much rain as the Amazon!

Such a shame game off, fair play to all ground staff fighting a losing battle though.I hope the boys are ready to play on Saturday we should beat a poor Woking side. Just hope we dont have too many games called off where our season petered out last year a bit. January is looking congested now, I guess Devs will field either a weakened team or the reserves in the essex cup whenever that game is. Fingers crossed for Saturday.

Considering that we generally play mostly if not a complete reserve side in the ESC, I think that that's pretty much a given Simon.
