Waterlogged pitch
WELLING AWAY - MATCH POSTPONED
More of the same - sees Iron sand Wings beaten by the rain
This afternoon's Skrill Premier Division match away at Welling United has been postponed. The match referee arrived early for his 10am pitch inspection and, we are advised, almost immediately declared the pitch unfit with standing water in both goal mouths and heavy rain - with more forecast! A new date will be announced when it is agreed. Attention at the Amlin Stadium now switches to this coming Tuesday evening's big Skrill Premier Division match at home to championship favourites Cambridge United. After more rain today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday), the current forecast for Braintree is for drier and breezy weather on Monday and Tuesday - so we have a chance. Needless to say, we'll keep you updated as we approach Tuesday's match. Keep dry everyone!
