Saturday fixture: Welling v Braintree
Just received a 'phone call from our friends at Welling United, with an update about tomorrow (Saturday's) game.
Like us, they've been suffering from the weather and planning a 10am pitch inspection tomorrow (Saturday) morning.
More news when I hear.

WELLING AWAY - PREVIEW Iron and Wings - looking to beat the rain The Iron travel to thirteenth placed Welling United this afternoon looking to build upon their recent league victory against Tamworth. The sides look evenly matched going into the game, just four points apart as things stand. The Wings are quickly becoming accustomed to life in the Conference Premier after gaining promotion form the Conference South as Champions last season. However, the sides are no strangers having already met twice this season. The Iron enjoyed a 3-0 win in the FA Trophy with Dan Holman, Sean Marks and Jordan Cox all on the score sheet in November. However, it was Welling that stole the points at the Amlin Stadium, scoring the majority in a five goal showdown where again Cox netted, this time joined by Charlie Strutton. Welling look to bounce back from a 3-1 loss against Aldershot, as like the Iron, they have suffered from the heavy rain which has meant that their last fixture was called off. A disrupted festive period also saw the Wings pick up a point against Wrexham, and a win against Dartford. Providing a boost to the Welling side will be Bailey Cargill, who has just seen his loan period from Bournemouth extended. He will now link up with Welling player/manager and former Bournemouth midfielder Jamie Day until the end of the month. Welling have announced that a pitch inspection has been scheduled to take place ahead of the fixture at 10am. Braintree fans making the journey are advised to check the outcome of this which will be announced on the Welling United website and updated here as we hear more. If you are travelling from anywhere other than Kent, take the M25 to Junction 2. At the roundabout, take the A2 towards Central London. Leave the A2 at the third exit (Danson Interchange, signposted A221 to Bexleyheath and Sidcup).Turn right (second exit) at the roundabout at the end of the slip road, and then turn right (third exit) at the next roundabout. Go under the A2 bridge and up the slope to another roundabout. Take the second exit and follow the road (Danson Road) to the traffic lights at the end. Turn left at the lights onto Park View Road. The ground is on the left. Preview by Chris Pargin.
