Should be a good one, I believe the games on paytv as well - BTsport! I'll be tuned to BBC Cambs and if my memory serves me right their commentary team are amongst the most biased. Good luck lads, Hereford did it last week, we can do it today, tough as that may seem. Kick off midday, click here for link for live match commentary: bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/live/bbccambridgeshire.asx

I know one of the BBC Cambs commentators well - Mark Johnson - and he's one of the best around. Of course he's a United man, but I'm not sure if BBC Essex attach the same importance to our games as our hosts local radio station do.

Was hoping to make the journey today but got problems with cashflow after a few days accomotosed gambling with Gary Grey n his dear old neighbour!! She does well for a 85 year old!!! Guess I will have to find a pub where it's on as the clubhouse probably won't be open for kickoff??

There's not a lot of big clubs in Cambridgeshire let's face it and only one league club.. It's obvious that local Beebs who cover former league clubs tend to hang on and continue with what they've habitually done. I don't suppose Histon got equal coverage.. That said and done, BBC Kent who are virtually a mirror county in area, population and demography and therefore presumably equally resourced did cover all Ebbsfleet and Dartford games last season and neither of them are former league clubs.

A good match but a disappointing result. Cambridge are a well organised side and play with the confidence of a side top of the league. Their goal was well crafted and they deserved the lead at half time. The Iron were chasing the game for much of the first half despite a couple of good efforts by Dan Holman, I can't understand why he was subbed at half time, maybe an injury. In the second half Braintree were a tighter unit with Massey and Wells doing their double act in defence and James Mulley being tenacious in the midfield breaking up the U's attacks. Kenny was spreading the ball from midfield to attack but our forward line failed to be penetrative, Kenny even had a couple of efforts himself. I wish Jordan Cox would just show a little bit of aggression and play with his front to the goal. Having seen most of the home games and a couple of away games this season I believe we are one of the better sides in the league the defence is solid, we have two good goalies and we have some good young midfield players. Our strike force concerns me that we do not have anyone who can create their own space and chances, someone with the X factor. Well done to the 130 Iron fans who were noisier then one may have expected.

Sounds like we were up against a very strong Cambridge side today. I read in the local paper that Devs has some strikers on his shopping list, we need a Charlie Strutton of our own to do our midfield justice. Nick Hamann looks quality between the sticks.
Good match report rustynail.

was disappointed with the level of the commentary from bt sport. they covered it as if it was a cup tie at times with braintree as plucky underdogs and little more. their level of knowledge on braintree was poor, and mostly seemed to be based on what they could see in front of them like physical attributes. cambridge on the other hand were talked up all game long, and much better research had been done.

Overall, I wasn't too disappointed by the performance. In short, you could see the difference between a team that trains most days, and one that trains only a few hours per week. Cambridge had more variety to their game, and on balance, probably were good for their one goal win. I don't think they deserved more than that though. However, you must give credit where its due. Twelve wins in a row at home, setting a Conference record. They have also kept so many clean sheets at home, so I remain proud of the performance of the team. We created chances, made their keeper make saves, had a great chance in the second half from a Dan S corner where Dean poked the ball over the bar, and almost snatched an equaliser in injury time from Jordan's header. I thought we did ok in both halves, but looked a little more dangerous in the second half when we had width, using Ryan, Chez/James, Dan S and Sam to pull them wide and out of the congested box. In summary, I think we have a chance to pick up something next time around on New Years Day, and make it even better with a win over Tamworth.
For the Tamworth game, I would start with the team that finished, except Chez instead Luke.

I have to agree with many of the comments on here for this game. I really hope we can find a striker soon we need to start banging the goals in with some clinical finishing, I like Jordan and feel he deserves to start but the header at the end of the game should at least hit the target, very similar to the chance at home against Lincoln. I really dont feel Sean is offering us any threat of late, Dan is lookin sharp but needs service, I think if we had snatched a point it woild not of been undeserved. Cambridge look good all over the pitch, keeper looks quality, organised defence, threating midfield and agressive in attack. Maybe we could turn them over new years day. ?

Watched the game on BT Sport and agree with Coludave - a cringe worthy and condescending commentary and complete lack of knowledge and research on Braintree Town.
I Wouldn't rush to blame the strikers for lack of goals as they were feeding off scraps for most of the game, although Braintree were very competitive in midfield and defended well there was little quality in the final third and a lack of creativity. Apart from Jordan Cox having a late header well saved and Wells diving in at the far post there was nothing really in the box to attack, In particular Isaacs delivery from set pieces was poor and decent delivery from the wide men non-existent.
