It was not a good game , the first half was non descript with neither side creating a clear chance of goal, the ball spent a lot of time in the stratosphere. The second half started as it had ended, the fans were getting frustrated with the Iron players standing off the Halifax midfield and when gaining the ball having no where to go with the distinct lack of movement and control. However it was not all bad the boys at the back were doing a sterling job and with our first decisive attack down the left the ball reached Sean Marks who was fouled inside the box by the touch line. The resulting penalty was put away by Kenny Davis. Halifax made all three substitutions and created a couple of chances, one resulting in a fine save by Nick Hamman which should have made him MOTM! Jordan cox came on as sub for Dan Holman and gave the Iron more momentum and they ended the game looking the better side and deservedly took the three points.

Not a classic but 3 points from a hard fought physical game. Agree with rusty nail why the ball was in the air so much against a strong big side ? . Also look what happened when we was positive and drove into the box, we won a pen!! When we attack be more positive drive at defenders pressure them. Nik made a fab save again ! Defence was solid, great to see big Al back and I felt Sam H should be MOTM, Kenny had too many passes astray. All in all 9/10 for commitment and energy and 8th in the table sets us back on track. Roll on tues, lets not get carried away with aldershots result today, we had 23 shots against Southport and on another day we would of converted 10 of those!! Well done Devs and boys.

I agree with both Simon and rusty nails summaries of the game and wish to comment on how nice it was to again catch up with my many Iron supporting friends. Game was so-so, the three points gained were luverly as was the 'ruby murray' at the Massala in South Street afterwards Onwards and upwards!

After the ruby it's more likely going to be onwards and outwards.

Have to agree that Sam was probably the best player today. Whoever gives MOTM always gives it to the goalscorer; but not one of Kenny's better days.

Have to agree that Sam was probably the best player today. Whoever gives MOTM always gives it to the goalscorer; but not one of Kenny's better days. MOM was awarded today by the BTFC U8's who were part of the guard of honour before the game and on the pitch for photos with Kenny Davis. How do I know? My little girl was part of the team and the kids loved the experience...and a goal scorer!

Am away on hols and only just got on the internet.Great to get the 3pts after 2 losses and as always captain Kenny makes sure from the spot.
See that Charlie Strutton has gone on loan to Aldershot, shame we couldn,t get him back to the Amlin.

Am away too. Relieved we managed to grab the points Saturday, especially looking at the Halifax away record. Would be interested to know if Charlie was offered to us before Aldershot. Just hope he doesn't play Tuesday. I believe we would have finished in the play-offs had he stayed with us, not that it's impossible now, just that bit harder.

Ah no poor bloke. I noticed aldershot subbed him just after half time the other day n I was hoping he wouldn't play against us tomorrow but Christ you'd never wish that on him! ?
