Just to confirm that we have been advised by both The FA and Newport County that our replay will now be at Rodney Parade a week on Tuesday, 19th November, subject to any TV interest in the match. More news when I have it.

No Exodus Geohaghon tonight
Taken from FA website Rules for the Football Association Challenge Cup Competition
15(f) All players must have been eligible to play in the original tie in order to play in a replayed or postponed match; however a player who has been suspended according to the disciplinary procedures under the Rules of The Association may play in a postponed or replayed match after the term of his suspension has expired.
That'll explain why Matt '4bookings' Paine was rested on Saturday........

Disappointed though not really surprised we could not pull off the victory. It seems it was an even game but another mistake at the back led to a free kick in which Newport scored at the end of the first half. There seems to be a lot of plaudits and respect from South Wales for the 14 Iron fans whom made the long journey and at times out sung the all singing Welsh!

The records over time show very few teams triumph over higher league sides in a replay after failing to do it at home.
I heard Devonshire on the radio rueing 'another' defensive error, but surely the inability to regularly find the net is the bigger problem confronting us, I see Tom Derry who's been a loaned at Chelmsford might be available.

I can't help but agree with OJB. I know I have posted a bit about Charlie Strutton on these boards but I do feel that we have suffered since he went back to the Dons. You can't criticise our forwards for effort but they do lack that vital craft. the ability to create their own space and chances and lately have failed to put the ball in the net when a clear chance is offered. This is probably what separates the conference teams from the league teams having a striker who can regularly put the ball away makes the difference. I'm sure that Devs will have something up his sleeve and looking on the bright side the latter part of the last two seasons has seen our best results and we are well on our way to getting that magic 50 points!
