HT IRON 1 FGR 1. Despite the early conceded goal, Braintree had much the better of the half and equalised via the penalty spot scorer skipper Kenny Davis. Lets hope for more action in the second half.

Another battling performance by this TEAM of ours against a bankrolled full time professional outfit that pushed, shoved, dived and moaned at every decision that didn't go their way. Really hope they go t**s up if this is the best they can do. Perhaps they need to eat some proper food.
The Ref was apalling and missed the shove on Alan Massey for their goal as well as countless other fouls against us.

I would have to question the image that this portrays of the club....... Surely the PA system has to be in full working order from the moment the gates are open to the paying public as a matter of health and safety!!!!!!! It seems strange to me that Ash is doing the testing when at least 150 paying fans are in the ground at nearly 14.00hrs... I know we are a pub team from essex but some things should just happen!?!

Thought that our part time pub team more than matched the "big time Charlie's" from forest green... Compare the pre match preparations where Forest green stayed overnight in a hotel after a training session at spurs to the pub team that worked all day Thursday, trained Thursday night, then worked all day Friday and some this morning then played today's match.!?! Think that Forest green need to get more out of there "big time Charlie's" considering what they are paying out!!!!

Thought the draw was a fair result. Enver-Marum was terrible; never played the ball, always the man or just fell down. Massive gap between the front two and the rest of the team at least 25/30 yards most of the time. Daley was poor; didn't have the beating of his man, whilst Mulley was a threat with his running. Back 4 solid as ever. Good shot stopping by Nathan, but the goal was his fault and almost cost us a second delaying his run out only to be rounded very easily. If we're going to win these games, we need more support for the front men.

Good performance by the iron today with a draw just about fair with both sides creating chances and a superb save a piece for the goalkeepers. Thought it was ironic that their manager made reference to our physical approach in his pre match interview! Thought Forest Green very physical in particular the three Centre halfs that occupied the two positions during the afternoon. With this in mind thought Jordan Cox coped well when he came on and showed some good touches. Roll on next week! Up the Iron.

Love reading peoples comments on here. The Game - Another stirling performance from the Iron and if Forest Green think they gonna get promoted they better buy a new lef back centre midfielder, a passing midfieder and a new pair of boots for the strikers. A draw a fair result. I was really impressed with Jordan Cox maybe he could teach Sean how to jump and win a header. Thought Ryan Peters was man of the match, and Chez showed a real battling side to his game today. The referee was lets be honest POOR, remember her from 2 years ago and she was better then maybe having kids has made her more protective for some of the fouls she blew for. The PA system- When oh when will we have decent system , for me this club is progressing and we need to keep up with the times, surely within the area someone would dip their hand in the pockets and invest, like an earlier comment Healt and safty etc and also the choice of songs is well same old same old. Dont get me wrong I have nothing against the Pa guy. Raffle tickets - Why is it that people turning up after 2:40 can never buy a ticket for the half time draw. Surely its beneficial to the club to have someone selling tickets up to 3:00 pm if not just after. Unless I have missed something and it is the players selling them. You have a captive market after the turnstiles, not everyone goes to the clubhouse. Anyway just a suggestion. Kidderminster for the title . Iron for promotion !!!

Just another point I wanna raise, just saw the big spenders managers comments on the bbc website. We did not come here to fight we came to play. Well sir if your bunch of numptys are gonna win the league they better be up for a fight cause this league is wide open now and no-one has the god given right to walk straight into league 2. Fight for every game and play to win. Maybe he should of seen our 9 men take on Barnet.Lesson Learnt Mr Hockaday.

Well done the boys today, we are certainly no pushovers this season going to have to work hard to take the 3 points off us. Ref the P.A. system it has its faults which will be addressed, but under no circumstances as seems to be implied was any H&S issues remotely compromised with the running of this event. Other systems are in place if the main P.A. system goes down for any reason. BTFC take very seriously the well being of everyone within the ground on any event it holds to insure the safety of all who attend, if the safety officer in conjunction with the stadium manager decided anyone was in any form of harm or danger at the event, the said event would not take place until rectified. YOU come first not the football.

Ok let's get some things straight here firstly full test was done for all the pa at 1.20pm and mic and speakers were 100% ok. Literally 5 mins before kick off we get a fault which was not found in time to rectify during the 90 mins. One horn speaker was ok but the other two were cutting out. So no safety issue at all. These things happen and after eventually diagnosing the fault we will be ok next week. Secondly it's not the same music we had a more modern cd today to cater for increased number of young fans. With quite a few tunes not played before. you have to remember the club is run by volunteers who all give up considerable personal time on a match day and perhaps more constructive comments would be useful . Yes it's disappointing when things go wrong in life but move on and if you want any music played or changed we have an open door policy but i trust you can appreciate itsextremely difficult to satisfy everyone's tastes from 5 to 85.

I agree Ashley, you're doing a great job, most helpers at the club go unpaid so don't take the comments personally. People know where you are and I'm sure you're all ears regarding song requests etc.
Temporary problems can crop up at all the wrong times - sods law and all that!
Decent game yesterday, FGR might have all the flash players on big $$$$'s but what price do you put on the honest endeavour from our lads?

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23909848Was the FGR manager Dave Hockaday at the same match as us? Almost all of the heavy stuff, mainly pushing and climbing, came from them, as far as I could see and almost none from us, in my opinion. I thought we played an honest and fair game. The fact that they gor two yellow cards and we none says it all.

It seems his team being bullied is an excuse Hockaday likes to use, at least according to a couple of fgr fans giving him a hard time on the way out. Apparently three of their players are on £3000 a week including the donkey that missed the open goal in the second half!

I agree with 1672, Hockadays comments were right out of order; not only after but also similar stuff before the game. Just for info. I've written a letter to the Non League paper about his comments - be interesting to see if it gets published.

About the match. A very good effort by the team. I reckon we shaded the first half and held our own in the second. Do think we need to get the front two sorted. Both Marksy and Enver-Marum seem to spend all their time just trying to draw a foul and win a free kick. No real effort to win the ball and attack their defence. Agree with a couple of comments above - Jordan Cox really impressed when he came on and gave the two centre backs something to think about; got in their faces, won a number of balls and looked dangerous. Reckon he deserves a start.

managers often do that with away games especially. if he can make out they were hard done by (regardless of reason) then most fans will stick with the team and there will have been relatively few of their fans there to spread the word otherwise.
