£10 for adults - No thanks.
Chelmsford City v Leyton Orient on Monday night. Adults a more realistic £6.

I thought good value £6 to watch the o's then made a couple of calls and informed its a develop squad. Get a better game from our reserves.

Nope Steve, At the moment we are sending most of our first team bar those with any early pre-season niggles and it will be two different sides in each half padded out with second year scholars, otherwise it would need to be advertised as a Leyton Orient Xl, but then that's what sides will do when they come to Braintree.

Well all we can do is wait and see, i can't see the comparison with price difference you flagged for our games being a con prem team, to a lower league team. Witham will charge min £6 when we visit, all helps towards the running of the clubs for the season, from bags of seed, cost of dvd productions, etc, and for some clubs, playing budgets. I myself will be taken in a few friendlies, price range from £3 to £18 across the board, going to see some good games and also some crap of that i'm sure.

How about Leyton Orient v New York Cosmos or Leyton Orient v Arsenal Xl - both £10 for adults, See the difference now Steve? Either the O's are cheap @£10 or BTFC a bit OTT @ £10.
Charge £7 and let kids/OAPs in for free - Keep up the goodwill generated by the free kids season tickets or is this aimed at extracting as much cash from visiting fans as possible? If so why not do a Carne for all 4 Home friendly games for £25 or 3 games for £20 for home fans purchased in advance or at the first home friendly, and charge a bit more on the day for everyone else.
Whatever still not as bad as AFC Bournemouth and their £60 a pop to watch Real Madrid in an exhibition match - Ludicrous.

Far from a development squad all 18 of our "first team" played 45 minutes tonight 0-0 at h-t and the O's finally ran out 7-0 winners - a very reasonable £6 well spent.

Each to their own I guess, £6 plus £2-3 petrol to watch a shower like them on an athletics ground compared with a side playing at a superior level on a proper football ground for a tenner and you think you got a bargain - too funny!

Wow you really have big man syndrome ironfourever - Actually I didn't go to watch Chelmsford I watched a team that if I was going to rub your nose in it in the same way you chose to with Chelmsford I would say are superior to Braintree (LOFC) playing at (albeit a not very good) non league ground but at a reasonable £6 and to be fair there were 750 there last night. I enjoy my trips to the Amlin Braintree have become very much my second team and I would probably pitch up to a couple of friendlies too but £10 is OTT IMHO, It won't entice many casual fans to take in a meaningless friendly for £10 - which is an opportunity lost.

No one said you went to watch Chelmsford, but you went to Chelmsford to watch the O's all the same. "big man syndrome" what do you mean by that? I hope you're not getting personal with me! All I would request you to do is look at the respective leagues and see the calibre of clubs playing Conference Premier v South. It's a gulf like the one between the Premier and championship leagues. I'm pleased you enjoyed seeing the O's at the athletics track.

At least Stevet got it right when he said, Get a better game from our reserves. Actually you are probably right up to a point - Chelmsford's first Xl looked OK actually but they made 9 changes second half and we brought on 8 first team regulars(please note SteveT)+ 1 Triallist and 2 first year Pro's and it was a complete mismatch. Team Braintree (or are they now officially BTFC Reserves) could not have been as poor as Chelmsford's second half team. As far as I could gather Chelmsford only have Xl actually signed on for the season, so Mr Holdsworth needs to get a shift on. I'd like to see them get promoted so Braintree have a couple of "real" local derbies but I think they will be a long way off this season unless they bring in another 7 or 8 decent signings.

stortford vs colchester yesterday was £10, Heybridge vs colchester on weds was £8 and where i was in oxfordshire on weds i saw wantage town (equivelent to thurlow nunn premier div) against an oxford united X1 made entirely of their youth team and triallists for the youth team (first team were on tour in scotland) was £6.
i guess what im saying is that £6 for chelmsford orient is cheap rather than the other way around.
