Just spoken with groundsman Graham Hockley and the pitch has been vert-drained this morning in preparation for tomorrow's match at home to Nuneaton Town.
Although the recent dry spell has lowered the water table, the forecast for the next 24 hours is continuous rainfall and we will review the pitch condition in the morning to see if an early pitch inspection by a local referee will be required.
More when we have it!

It seems not only the UK is suffering heavy rain. Am travelling through Italy to Sicily and its been p*****g down the whole way with lots of flooding. Not relevant to the Nuneaton match I know but not good for sightseeing!!

Shame that the impetus of recents weeks will be impinged on with the postponement of this afternoons match. It can't be helped and I would rather we not ruin the pitch anymore or attempt the impossible in a few hours. Its fortunate that all the games on today will not effect the Iron with the exception of the Alfreton/ Tamworth game but we will carry the game forwarded to another Tuesday night in March or April and we just now needed to focus on a result at Dartford on Tuesday night.
