Nope not even at the game, listened to the match on the internet commentary. I must have pressed the wrong key. Changed now.

I listened via the Internet as well. It sounded as if we were well worth the points in the North West. Our Gordon's radio career has come a long way - very enjoyable, thanks BBC Essex.
Let's hope we've now kick-started the rest of the season. I wonder where the other doom-sayers are today? I criticised us during the week and praise when we get the points. It's important to give the management and players a pat on the back when it's due, like now.
Also our intrepid fans were in good voice and very audible all the way downunder.

What a very very good result. Looks like the doom and glooomers will have a week off this week. All credit to all those who went to support the Iron today.

Great performance today by the lads today, man of the match for me was Dean Wells. never missed a tackle and was very solid at the back.
Shame that only 9 (NINE) Fans boarded the bus to Southport and missed the result, be a shame to lose the coach if we cant fill them and feel sorry for Richard

The weeks preceding Christmas are difficult ones for non-league football. Once the festive seasons out of the way and assuming our revival continues, gates will rebuild and so hopefully will interest in away travel. That rich2irons is playing a blinder, no doubt about it!

The whole team were very solid yesterday and played very well indeed, especially the way we defended against the wind in the second half was very pleasing. ;D
I think every player had a very good game. ;D
Well done Braintree! ;D

Southport were poor it has to be said but on a very big plus side we didn't lower ourselves to their level as we have done in matches past. The second half was a bit scruffy with neither team able to find the gap between the sticks and the ref was a tad card happy considering the conditions, 100% improvement after tuesday nights dross and the rocket up their backsides worked. They chased every ball with Dan Holman harrying up front and Kenny (My MOM) lead the team from the front and chased the ball all over the pitch. Defence was solid at the back and closed down Southport especially during a spell on 60 minutes when no less than 9 successive corners were well defended and that has to be one of the biggest improvements Massey and Wells snuffed out much and every substition worked. Shame that Cowan turned his bad ankle, looked lively for his 5 minute debut. All in all Iron back to better football despite the long journey showed charactor.
Well done to Alan and the team.

A good and solid display by the team and a welcome three points. We enjoyed the match and were delighted to see the goals return for Sean Marks ans also a very CONFIDENT and PROFESSIONAL display by Naisbitt in goal to keep a clean sheet. Our man of the match for his control of the defence. Congratulations to all. YET ANOTHER EX-LEAGUE CLUB BEATEN.

Southport were made to look poor because we were to good for them, from the way we closed them down to the complete understanding of team work and understanding what was required by the individual.
Tough call for man of match, team display, however i presented Nicky with a bottle of cold bud.

Congrats to Dev's and the team, a very pleasing 2-0 victory. Listening on the radio Deano sounded immense at the back. He's surely a league player in the making. On to a very tricky game against Forest Green tommorow night. The lads are surely buzzing after Saturdays result so I'm hoping for at least a point!

Yep reckon you might be a week premature for that one mate. Newport away is the next fixture this coming Saturday, I'm hoping for a repeat of our last visit.
