Hope isn't enough, I guess the excuse tonight will be that our players are rusty. We're either rusty or we're playing too often - isn't that's how non-league football always is and now the wintry weathers here. What have we been doing in training sessions?. Havant themselves have only played once in the past 18 days. Their league form suggests that they're not even a great BSS side, but I suspect we've contrived to make them look one.
It's time we started looking at where and what we are as a side. We all spoke/warned of second season syndrome, but it appears all we did was talk and have not insured ourselves against it. We have a squad of 19 players and you may as well pick any combination for Saturday, apart from 2 or 3 players where are the standouts?
The reality is only 1/6 of teams in our league get relegated and only 1/11 come up from the two feeders. If we go down, the odds of getting back are slim. Traveling to matches in the BSN won't be any easier than we're doing now, so maintaining our league status has to be paramount, starting with Southport on Saturday.
No excuses from management please, we were beaten by a side struggling at a lower level. Where's the pride?

I was at the game tonight n pride n passion was non existent in the first half n the defence was at its usual worst as gifted them both goals, 2nd half we were better but that wasn't difficult after the state of the first half!

The problem and solution is simple.... Start playing as a team together n also for the priveledge to play in the conf prem as next season if things don't improve I can't see 1 of this years squad playing conf prem football! Last year was an amazing ride n we exceeded everybody's expectations as an unknown quantity, we have to move on n now that Devs has a bit of money in the pot hope we can source 2 or 3 hungry team players who want to play at the highest non league level for the next few seasons... Someone who is experienced n wants to continue playing at a decent level of football!! For me there simply just wasn't enough passion out there tonight, we hardly got the 2nd ball n rarely closed down their attacks until it was down to our last man!! On a lighter note the dog is ok as I missed with me left boot.... But poor old cat is for it if it jumps on me bed in the night!!

Why was the colour clash allowed - difficult at times to tell which team was which?

Just a few words...................bloody diabolical!!!!.......absolute disgrace..........should have played the reserves...............at least they know where the goal is!!!! I thought the idea of this game was to get the ball between the posts!!! As you can tell I am not a happy iron supporter this morning. A meagre crowd for a meagre game.

Yeah reported as 197 on the Havant website, very poor indeed. What's happened to the Stringer spirit? Under Rodney you never felt the boys wouldn't give 100%. Even if we were losing by half time you felt Rod would get them in and you'd see a totally different team second half. Have the boys lost confidence in Dev's? Or are they simply not good enough? Certainly the players brought in don't look a patch on those that departed. Something needs to change. The fear of BSN looms.

Yes was a poor game, but what came out of this game was that you could see the lack of confidence across all the players who seem to be scared to want the ball in case of making a mistake.Devs and especially Keith need to stop slating the players and try to help by giving constructive directions a friendly chat with the players telling them to go out and enjoy them selfs might help.Devs said after Lincoln game we were rusty after not playing for 2 weeks,in the paper monday he feared the same so why did he not arrange a friendly either thursday or saturday their were lots of teams with out fixtures.I'm sure Colchester would have helped with them having no game and them getting a hammering the saturday before.

Where any friendly would have been played would have been the biggest obstacle there.

Apart from one selection within the starting eleven, which i was weary about, which was changed later in the game, the team never got going until the 2nd half.
After any defeat we look for blame, human nature, pitch, players, amount of fans management, and anyone else within ear-shot.
The players we have are good enough to compete at this level, the problem they have is as a young average age they lack the verbal communication with each other. This is showing at training and match days, hence some verbals from the bench.
As the season and games go on through highs to lows, the boys will keep us in this league, of that i have no doubt, lead by the experience of all on the management team.
Talking, of talking there's a talk with a member of the mt and player session coming up next week, looking to do one each week thereafter for members of the supporters club, this is the first of many other events for members to be announced.

Yes verbal communication is bad it starts with the keeper,i feel Nathen talks a lot better.Tuesday 1st goal was penalty 2nd Wells beaten at far post in air but should Nesbitt have come for it,but we are still blunt up front.
