Ok first thing to say is that personally having followed Iron since 83 I still consider Blue Square South as a league that we are punching above our weight so just to be in the premier is incredible given our resources and very small (relatively speaking) fan base. So far this season we have been very unlucky in some of the points dropped but I have to say that in simple terms I feel we have not addressed the glaring obvious position we are lacking with a play making central midfielder. Poor Kenny had hardly any pre-season and is clearly not 100% fit given his sore shins. The way their number 23 ghosted past him simply would not have happened last season. Nicky Symonds has been excellent in the midfield grafting role but for me both brad, kenny, and Nick are very similar players. In short with the losses of Aswad, Reason, Yiadom and Wright 30-40 goals have gone out of the team. IMHO some the players that we have signed have been very 'light-weight ' and simply not up to the standard required. That all said whilst deano has been fit we have been more solid at the back but need to be more clinical in front of goal . Clearly Holman has been a really good buy but he needs the service from midfield all too often the front too have been isolated. That all said we are certainly very competitive in every game and hats off to the management team, however 7 games without a win and a daunting fixture list right up to xmas and we could have a long winter in store .........lets hope not but I hope we can get some guile in the middle to address what is a blindingly obvious weak area of our side........before the doom merchants start lets hope we can bounce back and get a surprise win at Luton - but id love to see a new fella in the middle of all the park - hopefully a cup run will finance the acquisition with finally a reasonable draw in the cup for the first time in years>>>
