After all our games I like to wander over to the opponents forum to have a gander at what they have to say about the match. Now the post by richard_t on the Hampton & Richmond forum must say a lot about some football fans and bias. The guys clearly gone to the game one-eyed to say the least. He makes a biggish post and the dreaded "B" word never even gets gets a mention, not only that but its all about his favourite side. Yes, most of us go to football to cheer our side on, but surely, we all like to see a match involving two sides? Obviously this isn't always the case. Braintree didn't score two goals, H&R gave them away lol. The thread link is here: hrbfc.freeforums.org/tonight-t1820.htmlWhat do you people think?

An entertaining evening with our friends at Hampton. The draw was a fair reflection, but a little tough to take when the leveler comes on 97 minutes. C'est la viƩ! We had to make a few changes to cover short-term knocks, but the lads who came in or switch positions did well. Our much improved fitness is really helping us compete for the full 90 and made a big difference last night. Bottom line we're 10 points ahead of where we were this time last season and already looking forward to Saturday.

Thanks, Iron Webbo, for the report. Was seven minutes of time added justified? I also feel much better now in seeing that the top nine teams all drew on Monday and Tuesday, so our status hasn't changed!

Sorry about the wrong hyperlink in the first Hampton connection above. Second message seems to work OK. The report says that we were time-wasting at the very end, trying to protect our lead. We tried that far too often last season and many times got caught out with late goals. I hope our manager will have a word with our players about this.

Its funny to read other clubs quoting how we fared against them last season. eg H&R did the double over us, as if last years management and team has much relevance to this years.

its complacent just to think that cos they won last year, they can expect the same this. Long may it continue. Nothing wrong with a bit of time wasting with 5 minutes to go. GB used to do it with 15 mins left! It did work for him mostly though.

We crow enough about Christmas doubles against the Airport Car Park, but the same really applies - different season, different teams - with the odd familiar face against us this time, maybe.

I'm confident Mr Garvey will have watched the aviation fuel sniffers and will know what to expect.

The boys did well against Hampton......there wasn't many times we said last season that we were disappointed with a draw especially against a team like Hampton!!! We had to survive a barrage of long throws at the end and was gutted to concede a very later leveller against us in the 94th minute - although their announcer said it was 89 mins!!!

a very later leveller against us in the 94th minute - although their announcer said it was 89 mins!!! Sometimes refs take sides, when they feel that while one side is urgently seeking an equaliser the other is only frustrating them by the legitimate "winding down" of the clock. Its beyond the refs brief to be doing this, but it happens. I suspect, the Hampton announcer knew the real time but was assisting the ref by giving some respectability to his dubious practice.
