A fairly good game for a friendly, played at a high tempo, particularly in the second half.
Micky Shinn, Ian Cousins, Ian Wiles and Chris Sullivan all played for Billericay while James Baker was on the side lines.
H.T. 0-0. Late in the game Shinn put Billericay ahead from a free-kick, but we equalised late on when their keeper carried a deflected shot from Quinton over the line.

Thanks for the update JW...........
Here is an update on a couple of the trialists.............
Liam Coleman
Coleman began his career with Colchester United, turning professional in August 2004. He failed to break into the Colchester first team and was released at the end of the 2004–05 season. In July 2005 he joined Torquay United, initially on trial,[1] and made his league debut as a second-half substitute for Darren Garner in a 3–0 defeat away to Mansfield Town on 13 August 2005.[2] He was a regular squad member for the first three months of the season, but lost his place after being substituted in the first half the game at home to Northampton Town on 6 December 2005,[3] which turned out to be his final appearance for Torquay. Coleman joined Forest Green Rovers on loan in March 2006[4] and was released by Torquay at the end of that season, with Forest Green also opting to not keep him on.[5] In August 2006 he joined Gravesend & Northfleet now known as Ebbsfleet United.[6] He was released at the end of the 2007–08 season,[7] and dropped four divisions to join Wivenhoe Town in September 2008[8], but left within a week.[9] In December 2008 he signed for Northwich Victoria.[10] His father, Phil, also played for Wivenhoe Town.[8]
Tom Webb
Youth/Reserve young striker from Col U .

...and another fact about Liam Coleman that seems to have slipped your attention - he is an ex-Braintree player! He played for us against Charlton Athletic in Steve Good's Testimonial last season.

The real question has to be, if Ricay looked a good Ryman Prem outfit, did we look to be a good Conf Sth side by comparison?
I see from the Ricay forum that their supporters felt that their defence held up better against us last night than was the case in their 3-2 home loss to Stortford at the weekend.

No doubt the Ricay fans will be delighted that they stopped us from winning. Shame that Chis Sullivan left us in the first place.
