Lee Burns has joined Billy at Dartford.
How do you rate him, seems like he can play in a few different roles.

Jack of all trades, master of none
Whilst we're disappointed to see Billy go, I don't think there will be many (btfc08 obviously excluded) who will be too sad to see Burnsy go. A good footballer at Ryman level, but not quick enough to be a winger, strong enough to be a No.9, have enough quality on the ball to play centre mid, and was only used at the back as a last resort. Patto's first signing from his old club - and it showed. Some players played well one week and didnt get a chance the next, in my opinion Burnsy turned in fairly average performances and was probably the first name on the team sheet the following week.

Very harsh summary there I thought he was a 100% effort player who did a good job in several positions, perhaps not the abiltiy of some of the more high profile players but gave much more than them.

Nice lad but part of the side that finished 14th last season - a final position that, by the high standards we set ourselves, was not good enough.
There needed to be changes and Burnsy was one of those that has moved, like many who have left us, down to the Ryman League.
Good luck to him in the future.

dav should change his name to div! are you the one who warms up the gk from time to time? you couldn't even kick the ball properly! embarrassing! dartford is a big ambitious club who get about 1000 (actual) supporters for each home game. amended my previous post about money as he signed for dartford when billericay swifts offered a lot more. before you start going on about not being good enough, look at what the other supporter have said about him. I think Lee will be a great addition for dartford along with Billy. I wonder why pretty much all the players are leaving/left? perhaps with your vast knowledge of the squad, you can enlighten me?

I agree with mjt. Lee would always give 100%. If other players had done the same throughout the season perhaps we may have well finished higher in the league. If my memory is correct he scored our first goal against Team Bath at home and that set us up for our first win of the season. I wish him well at Dartford.

Always nice to resort to personal insults, a real classy touch, but hey I was just expressing my opinion - it doesn't I'm right or wrong or that you (or anyone else) have to agree with it! At no point did I criticise Burnsy's work ethic and he deserves credit for battling away but in my opinion, as with a lot of players last year, he didn't do enough. I'm positive both he and Billy will be fantastic signings for Dartford, with the money they got from Cody Mac in January I expect them to be right up there in the Ryman Prem next season. As for my intimate knowledge of the squad, I'm just a fan like everyone else and all I know is what I read on here or on the paper. I just help out where I can, do what I get asked to do and don't claim a penny for my efforts - which this week will involve painting the dugouts, fixing the sportsman stand roof, spending all of Monday night at an AGM, Tuesday having a meeting at the bank, Wednesday night on the training pitch, then Saturday painting the press desks, painting the facias of the stands and Sunday back at the club for another AGM and presentation do - but don't let that stop you criticising me. Nothing stopping anyone else picking up a paintbrush and coming to help us out on a Saturday btw! As for wondering why pretty much all the players are leaving/left - I would suggest it was because for the money they were paid they simply weren't good enough for what Robbie Garvey wants this year - don't think anyone can argue with that.

I agree that Dav was very harsh in his criticism of Lee Burns.
It isn't easy for a player to be played in a number of differenet positions from week to week and that wouldn't have helped him or the team in some of his performances. However, in my opinion he is a decent player and probably at his best in an attacking central midfield role.
It's strange how when a player leaves a club he is criticised by so called supporters who said little when he was playing for their team!
I've even recently heard Man U supporters saying they will not miss Ronaldo!
