Braintree Town Manager Robbie Garvey has decided to release the following five players: Danny Hockton, Wayne O'Sullivan, Chris Piper, Micky Shinn and Gareth Williams. The Club would like to thank them for their efforts whilst at Cressing Road and wish them the very best of luck with their future careers. Robbie Garvey is now discussing terms with the remaining players and a series of potential new signings. More news when we have it!
Exactly who i said. I would imagine Hockton to end up at Dover, Williams maybe to Bromley. Shinny will sign for Billericay where Ian Cousins has been made player/coach

and Craig Holloway played for Aldershot reserves last weel, possibly on trial there? Doubt he'll stay to be honest. Too good for this league and all the luck to him if he does move on

Interesting to see the county town club have released a certain Danny Gay........ I like morgan and i think he did well for us in 07/08 but to me is it a risk as he has played little football since........ only problem could be Gays wages but IMO he is not too far behind Holloway so could be a shrewd signing for Garvey!!

Wouldnt want Gay back to be honest. Morgan is a better keeper, and played our last 2 games and at least 1 for Eastleigh on his loan. He'll get match practice in pre-season and be a top keeper.

If we got danny back it would probably only be for one season as he want top wages, where as nicky IMO could be here for a while. Yes he left at end of 07/08 season but i think he learnt alot with not playing much last season and will knuckle down and impress the supporters and Garvey.

Southend have few good players released from winning youthside well worth a go. had cracking defence like Byrne and others. Quality to be had if Garvey is quick

According to a Chelmo season ticket holder I know, Danny has had a jittery (unlike him) end of the season. Stick with Nick. I guess some of those players released were expensive & for the most part did not give us any consistancy (with a little help from inconsistant team selection). Good luck to them all.
