So let us speculate....
lets start for most Braintree Fans 'must keep'
Morgan Burgess Jones Moran Quinton Marks Riddle Hawes
Possible departures.......
Holloway (looks like league club will come in for him) Bruce Porter O'Sullivan Williams Hockton Shinn Burns Piper
so there you have the nine !!!
Pipes/Hockton and williams would reduce the wage bill considerably..
personally I think Williams/Shinn/Burns and Pipes will go (all brought in by patto)
and what we need.
1.experienced centre-half 2. Right winger with pace 3. Proven goalscorer 4. Attacking midfield player.
Whilst Garvey is going for youth we need to get the balance right - no doubt some of the Stortford youngsters have impressed Mr G so lets wait and see...........come back Paul Lorraine - I fancy his wages might be a tad high for our budget mind !!!
Get typing ............

apologies Shinn was of course brought IN by GB......
Shinny only average at deadball and for me is too 'one' dimensional with his long punts to the wings his short passing is simply not good enough and he does not track back when defending...........he is an ok player but too good for Ryman Prem and not good enough for BSS.
Harsh but he has had plenty of time to prove himself..........

I would keep them all. Even Shinn, who for me never looks up before he passes the ball, but he is young & can still improve.
Is this really speculation or stirring the ****?
We have an experienced centre half. We have a fast right winger who needs to improve his delivery. We have an attacking midfielder We have proven goal scorers, who have done well despite our poor season.
Thank god Ash is not the manager. Stick to the tannoy mate

Its Robbie Garvey stirring it in the Braintree & Witham Times. Not a very pleasant read (IMO) & not very nice for the players either. Will we be told who is going or will we have to wait until August? I suspect the latter.

Will we be told who is going or will we have to wait until August? I suspect the latter. If its these comments you find unpleasant Steve, you must be leading a very reserved type of life. Garvey told the Times: “I will meet them on an individual basis.
“I will tell them my thoughts and they can tell me theirs.
“If I am going to do things the way I want, I have to make changes.
“We have to get our own players in and try and do it my way.
“There could be seven, eight or nine players going, but that’s not definite yet.
“I will make sure that we do what is right for them and right for the club.
“It’s not a personal thing – it happens every season.
“We need young and hungry players at Braintree.”I personally prefer a manager to call a spade a spade, something radical needs to be done after the season we've just had. Some people have suggested we could do with Borgy coming back, but just maybe, we now have someone with Borgys bite but without the gamesmanship.

Ironbruato - thanks for your as always constructive comments !! Note: forum boards are for opinion and I have had the balls to air my views for anyone to agree with or disagree with. I think I am justified in that, but object to the personal comments, there simply is no need. Wayne O is quick but simply needs more football and work hard on his crosses - for me he gets bundled off the ball too easy and will never be a Robbie MARTIN - opinion............. So who fits the attacking midfielder role .... Williams ? clearly a penalty box striker Re: New Striker this is assuming that Hockers and Williams leave I am not suggesting anything otherwise. 18 defeats and two 4 goal drubbings away to inferior opposition this season in the major cups suggest major alterations in personnel required....and as for Stirring it up utter tosh..........Garvey has made an interesting point to the press so I just wanted to start a thread to gage people's opinion on who should stay and who should go........... Midfield is clearly the area that needs most surgery.......in the goalscoring department. Id love to have Mr Jolly back, personally.

Would welcome new faces in any posistion as a shake up is needed and deep down we knew for a while before Garvey took over.
Jolly would be a good signing. Not proven in the BSS but is proven goalscorer elsewhere.
Im sure Garvey knows who he wants tho.

Micky Shinn's facebook status is 'looking for a new club' so he mustve gone. Thanks to Micky for great service to the club, i thought he was a good player and am sad to see him move on. Hopefully he finds himself a good club (wouldnt be surprised if he joined Cambridge City as they are local to him)

I think Robbie is right and needs to be. After all, he has his reputation on the line and his future at B.T.F.C. it,s a lot more than we on the forum do.

Watched plenty of games this season also last game at thurrock and yes changes need to be made, worst player for me on the night was club captain at right back. all season has looked slow and lazy and being an ex pro you can;t keep certain players out of loyalty and need to know you have to step down . So for me hes one who should be going

Anyone who thinks Billy should leave aint got a glue, no why is billy lazy and we would be in a lot worst position without him, the tackles and balling winning he does including popping up with the odd goal is so important...

Yeah, how can anyone criticize Billy . You need to start looking because he is the best player we have got. The amount of goal scoring chances he has stopped not just this season but other seasons as well, with fantasic defending is amazing. ;D

Confirmed where ?
Though if true not surprised as I guess they were all the bigger earners within the squad.

As and when Robbie agrees terms with players for next season, we'll let you know on the Club site.

Well said Mr Chairman, all this speculation about who is, and who isn't gonna be here next year means nothing and it may only alert other clubs to availability of players we are still trying to negociate with.
As great as it can be for us fans to speculate on who might feature in an Iron shirt next season it could end up harming the club's chances of actually attracting (or keeping) those players.
This isn't the premier league where information is widely available on who is doing what, apparent confirmation (no matter how well intended or informed) could well be used by other clubs in the negociating process. I also don't think that repeating what players have, or have not, included as Facebook status updates is very clever either. Those updates are intended for those who are 'friends' and not for the whole world's consumption!!
