So the F.A. have announced football below our level is over and that at this stage their is still a possibility of the National League trying to finish.
With no possibility of Iron getting relegated, what is your preferred option for the remainder of this season? Play on? For the integrity of the league, surely if we can get going all teams need to give 100% to ensure that the promotion race is untainted.

I'd very much like the season to continue there are still some good upcoming away matches and good fixtures overall and since we wouldn't go down it would allow for a relaxing end to the season which Has not happened for some time

Has anything been clarified about players contracts being extended beyond 25th April. Would have thought that would be a big problem to a lot of clubs in the division, particularly for those in bottom six whose incentive to win has been taken away. Unwelcome costs at a difficult time.

We only have 1 player on contract! All the other players are non-contract or loanees! The football league, Premier league & PFA have issued an earliest date of 30th April for re-starting and that will only happen if safe to do so! If the season carries on then all the players registrations will have to be extended as i guess they all end after the last match wouldve been played on 25th April! I really cant see the 3leagues in the conference continuing any further this season! Promotions/relegations are a difficult one to guess, Plus the need to replace Bury in the football league! I would guess Barrow will get promoted and therefore meaning a space in the National League premier- This causes a problem as 2 feeder leagues! Chorley in the National league are well adrift at the bottom so could be relegated meaning top team from North & South get promoted! South is pretty clear both on Average points per game, plus actual points with Wealdstone topping on both fronts! North is a difficult one as both York actual points on table & Kings Lynn average points per game would top the league!?! Whilst relegations from our league aren't going to happen there was s plan to increase the North & South to 24 teams so with the FA making the allocations for next season, there will be some teams from Step 3 & below that get promoted to make up the numbers! Depending on geographical locations of teams promoted to step 2, it could open up the possibility of Braintree playing in the North next season!

The F.A. have announced that there will be no promotions from step 3. This season is null and void and the reorganisation plans have been put back 12 months.

The pandemic is nowhere near its peak and even when it does peak, it will come down again slowly so social distancing will still be necessary. I can't see any way the season can be completed.
I hope not, as I've just written a review of the season for the Braintree and Witham Times. At all good newsagents on Thursday!

Apparently not. I thought they were running the football review this week and table tennis next week. It looks as if it might be the other way round
