Iron defeated F.C. Broxbourne Borough 2-1 at Cressing Road tonight in the F.A. Youth Cup 2nd Qualifying Round. Since first competing in this cup in 1961 we had previously only ever won 7 games. The only season in which we had won two games, prior to this season, was in 1994-95. This is the first time ever that we have reached the Third Qualifying Round, and we will be away to either Woodbridge Town or Bury Town. Today's game was our fifteenth at home in the F.A. Youth Cup but only our second ever home win. The only previous home win was 2-1 against Welwyn Garden City (2-1) in 1991....24 years ago!

You can rely on Jon Weaver for the facts and figures. What Jon doesn't know about the club's history, just isn't worth knowing.
