Alex is focused on the Iron

Alex Woodyard is fully focused on the job he has to do for Braintree Town rather than thinking about a move into the Football League.
The 22-year-old former Southend United trainee had a trial with League Two side Leyton Orient over the summer, before moving to the Iron after the O’s declined to offer him a professional deal.
It meant he linked up again with manager Danny Cowley, who Woodyard starred for at Concord Rangers last year as he earned two England C call-ups, and the midfielder said he is now concentrating on doing well for Braintree.
“You can never write off playing in the Football League and getting back there,” he said.
“But I try not to think about it and if it happens, it happens.
“My main objective is to play well for Braintree Town and whatever else happens will take care of itself.”
However, he does hope his form for the Iron will catch the eye of England C boss Paul Fairclough once again this year.
Woodyard added: “England C is brilliant – you can’t beat putting on a Three Lions shirt.
“You don’t realise how good it is.
“I haven’t spoken to Paul Fairclough or anyone this summer, but when you’re away with England he talks to you and tells you what you need to be doing.
“He’s very good and I’ve enjoyed playing under him.”

Strutton to continue injury comeback with Braintree Reserves
Charlie Strutton will continue his injury comeback with another run-out for Braintree Town Reserves.
The Iron striker scored as he played 45 minutes for the reserves in their 3-2 Thurlow Nunn League division one win at Stowmarket Town.
He is now set to step up his recovery from ankle surgery with another game for the reserves when they host Team Bury on Saturday and Iron boss Danny Cowley said he expects him to play 60 minutes this time.
Cowley said he will then look to arrange a loan deal for Strutton to step his recovery up even further.
“We’re doing everything we can to get Charlie back on the pitch,” he said.
“However, it will take time.

“The problem is if we rush him back with no background, he’ll just break down again so we have to take a long-term view.
"There are a lot of questions that have to be asked because he still has a long way to go, but I know that if we can get Charlie back on the pitch by the beginning of October, I’d expect him, if he’s fit, to score us 15 goals.”
