Had my first meeting with Danny and Nicky at club last night. My thoughts are they are very positive people who know what they want as a team. Hard working positive and have a good attitude and speak well. You can not but like them as they will be a breath of fresh air through the club on and off the pitch. They have got good idea's on players and are winning over last years team who all seem to be staying except the 3/4 we all know about. So I am backing them to push the Iron on to a new level by motivating last years players and with a few new signings taking us to new heights. Pub team from essex? No
Now that established National Conference team from east anglia
Remember the impossible is always possible at the IRON

A very enjoyable evening last night with some good forthright views from the new management team. They have certainly fully engaged themselves within the club and spoke honestly and passionately. I'm slightly concerned that they are hoping to have a squad of 16-18 players and that they appear to be taking a risk on some players who have had "bad injuries". I think that Charlie Strutton is possibly the biggest risk with no date given for his expected return and with 4 other forwards on the books; we could have freed up funds to strengthen elsewhere. They also identified areas where we need players and I look forward to seeing who they bring in. Danny also asked us to be patient as he seeks the right players who may become available later in July. He also told us of connections he has within the game and how he's working hard to do deals for travel and overnight stays. Both Danny and Nicky appear to be very approachable guys and their love of the game and in particularly, winning, will hopefully rub off on the team. Roll on 8 August.

They seem very level headed. I agree with the view that players become available in July. Quite simply when the season finishes players who are looking to move on and upwards are doing just that, many have an overblown idea of their desirability/ability. Then with a few weeks to go before the season kicks off the expectation by players still without a club wears off and their £value falls likewise.
