Crossed last Saturday at Mid day, still expected it to be busy what with Xmas shoppers going to Lakeside and Bluewater but it was straight across no stopping, just a shame we are still being robbed of £2.50. Regular users can buy a Dart card for £10 which works out cheaper. We came back through tunnel at 9.30pm which was equally clear, but then again you'd expect it that time of night.

It's good to see the UK's joining the rest of the developed world in the 21st century at long last. We've had cash free toll roads downunder for at least a decade now. If the systems the same as here you have to phone up or register your vehicle online and leave your payment details, credit card etc with them. They take pics of all the cars passing through and deduct the toll. If you're not registered with the toll company you can still use the crossing but you also get hit with an administration fee which might be more than the toll itself. I think it's really an unofficial penalty for not having set things up beforehand in the way they want you to. It's just another way they can cut their costs and get the user to do all the work
